Thank you so much for putting this lesson out! I have struggled for a long time with understanding what people meant when they say they base their lines off of arpeggios. When I would try to incorporate arps into my playing they always sounded elementary, or like I was practicing. I was doing exactly what you showed in the beginning of the video and always trying to implement the arp with no space left "to decorate" around and in-between the other arp notes. This video has been like a lightbulb going off for me! It's clear now how to create lines that land on strong chord tones. I really appreciate this! Thanks!!

=My thoughts exactly! If you think this is a light bulb, wait until you enter his Galactic Modern Guitar course. That thing has been... pff, where do I even start - a GAME CHANGER in my playing would be an understatement. amazing amazing

This was a real good presentation to ensure strong fundamentals and to break away from the pentatonic boxes that while are awesome can be limiting if that is all the player knows. I just noticed for the first time that your hands are large. Larger than mine anyway. You seem to have light touch too, but I digress.

Thanks for the great lesson, I wanna ask about the chromatic approach, what you are showing for the triads is always in a descending way, Im trying to get also in an ascending way but its not working the same, can you please give some examples? Or ascending motion are only for staking 3rds? Thanks for your help!
@WeissGuitar11 ай бұрын
Sure! would love to share some examples of ascending types, those are so fun! :-) thanks for tuning in and for your feedback

I so much appreciate you lesson. Pls, in enclosing the target tones should it be any one of the target tones or all the tones that makes up the chord. I mean during performance. Tnx
@WeissGuitar3 ай бұрын
Happy to help! : ] Try This: Start by focusing on the chord tones - the root, third, fifth, and seventh of the chord. This will provide you with a solid harmonic foundation for the progression (or tune) of your choice and ensure that your lines are grounded in the underlying harmony. Once you have a handle on these chord tones, begin incorporating tensions and extensions, such as the 9th, 11th, and 13th, as well as alterations on dominant chords (b9,#9, etc) really depends on the melody of that tune.. As you establish this harmonic framework, start transcribing ideas from other players and analyzing their decisions. This will help your improvisation naturally evolve to more creative and sophisticated ideas over time from month to month, year to year, and decade to decade. : ] This will become second nature, much like learning a language. Hope this helps! and I wish you all the best in your musical journey.
