17:27 the importance of this great DW documentary starts here with Simonetta Vespuci, the young woman whose beauty amazed Florence and inspired Lorenzo Il Magnifico poems to her, when she died so young the people cried but Boticelli had the chance to paint her to eternity in The Birth of Venus many years after her death. When I saw the painting in Uffizzi I was surprised of the big size of this beautiful masterpiece. ❤

That story about the self portrait, Dleeping in Front of La Primavera, it really choked me up when I saw it again, knowing the background.

I enjoyed this documentary, but I wish the cameras had lingered longer on the actual, rarely seen artworks!

one who doesn’t understand “ Venus”, truly doesNOT understand or has never understood truest beauty and truest mist blessed and divine love … the Venus was truest beauty cause it was her most beautiful and natural given , this beauty coupled with love explodes into the world as divine beauty , a goddess , women are goddesses within their own rights world wide … beauty can also transcend for some solely from the heart - this is their blessing others have other blessings … one should only concern thyself with thine own treasures ♾️🫶🏼👼❤️🌃🪐🎬❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜💜💜⛅️🌠💋🤹♂️😍♎️

Shouldn't Venus then be without a navel according to the circumstances she became to be.😀

How different have the times become! the sentences around 7:25 sound totally different in these Trump times of 2024. It is become just sad, and scary as well, since - potentially - he can win the elections again. Besides, in Italy there is a new female Mussolo I don't like at all: she will ruin the country with her deeds!
