TL;DR: No matter how much progress a dictator brings to a country, she is still a dictator. Dictators should never rule a democratic country. People were not as unhappy with Sheikh Hasina prior to this student movement. Although her party was involved in rampant corruption and extra-judicial activities, she still managed to get stuff done and make good progress. It’s from the student movement that people of Bangladesh saw her true colours and understood that no matter how much development a dictator brings, it only takes her a few days of stubbornness to ruin it all. We also have a weak opposition party who were focused more on corruption rather than taking the people’s side and making the government accountable for its mistakes.

আগামী সরকারের কাছে আমার প্রত্যাশাঃ ১) সকল শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে সকল প্রকার রাজনীতি নিষিদ্ধ করা। ২) সরকারী চাকরীজিবিদের রাজনীতি নিষিদ্ধ করা। ৩) দুই টার্মের বেশী কেউ যেন সাংসদ, প্রেসিডেন্ট বা মন্ত্রী অথবা স্থানীয় সরকারের কোন সদস্য হতে না পারে সেই আইন করা। ৪) সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতি নিশ্চিত করা এবং যারা সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতি নস্ট করবে বা নস্ট করার যড়যন্থ করবে তাদেরকে দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি প্রদান করা। ৫) সরককারী, স্বায়ত্তশাসিত, আধা স্বায়ত্তশাসিত, স্ব-স্বায়ত্তশাসিত ইত্যাদি চাকরীতে স্বচ্ছতার ভিত্তিতে যোগ্যদের নিয়োগ এবং প্রমোশন নিশ্চিত করা। ৬) সরকারী দপ্তরগুলো দুর্নিতিমুক্ত করা। ৭) যে সকল আমলা, নেতা, কর্মী, সরকারী কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারী, এবং ব্যাবসায়ী দুর্নিতি করে সম্পদের পাহাড় গড়েছে তাদের চিহ্নিত করে বরখাস্ত করা, গ্রেফতার করে শাস্তি দেয়া এবং সম্পত্তি বাজেয়াপ্ত করা। ৮) ব্যাংক এবং শেয়ার বাজার লুটেরাদের গ্রেফতার করে তাদের সম্পত্তি বাজেয়াপ্ত করা এবং দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি প্রদান করা। ৯) যারা দেশের টাকা বিদেশে পাচার করে সম্পদের পাহাড় বানিয়েছেন, তাদের টাকা ফেরত আনার ব্যাবস্থা করা। ১০) হাসিনা ভারতের সাথে যে চুক্তিগুলো করেছে সেগুলো বাতিল করা। ১১) দেশকে মাদক, সন্ত্রাস, কিশোর গ্যাং এবং চাঁদাবাজ মুক্ত করা। ১২) অবৈধভাবে যে সকল বিদেশী নাগড়িক এদেশে চাকরী করতেছে তাদেরকে চিহ্নিত করে শাস্তি প্রদান করা এবং নিয়োগ বাতিল করা। ১৩) অবৈধ দখলদারদের উচ্ছেদ করা। ১৪) সরকারী কর্মকর্তাদের জবাবদিহিতা নিশ্চিত করা। হালুয়া রুটির আশায় যারা অফিসে যায় তাদের চিহ্নিত করে বরখাস্ত করা। ১৫) জনগনের উপড় ভ্যাট এবং ট্যাক্সের পরিমাণ কমিয়ে যাদের উপড় ভ্যাট ও ট্যাক্স প্রযোজ্য তাদের প্রত্যেককে ভ্যাট ও ট্যাক্সের আওতায় এনে সঠিক পরিমাণে ভ্যাট ও ট্যাক্স আদায় করা। আমি বিশ্বাস করি এটা করতে পারলে রাজস্ব আয় কয়েকগুন বেড়ে যাবে। ১৬) নিরপেক্ষ এবং যোগ্য ব্যাক্তিদের নিয়ে কমিটি গঠন করে পাঠ্যপুস্তক এবং শিক্ষা কারিকুলাম ঢেলে সাজানো। ১৭) সর্বক্ষেত্রে যথাযথ আইনের প্রয়োগ এবং সুশাসন নিশ্চিত করা। আপনার প্রত্যাশা কি?
