What I saw was that she was informed beforehand and expected it. She didn’t automatically extend her hand and then was rejected. She knew well. I’ve been to that area and it takes some mental guts and not be offended to not get a hand being a woman. On the other hand, it’s their culture and not touching another woman I was also extended as a respect to me. It really comes down how one chooses to see it. Best!

No country is an island, lol. Besides, this is in line with what most _Syrians_ want, it seems. Every Syrian isn't a religious fanatic, obviously, some actually do want a fair and equitable society where women and minorities are respected. Now that Assad is gone, they have a chance to actually build a society people want to be part of. So I don't really see what the issue is.
