Decrease in biodiversity matters only because it is bad for humanity. Planet will be ok regardless of our actions. We can set off thousand of nukes, several thousand of years will pass and as if nothing happened.

not accurate the planet had many cycle of climate change and mass extinctions so it doesn't effect the health of the planet overall but it effect the environment that sustained human as species. Dinos are gone and if they have intelligence they might having the same conversation as we have today but we inherited the planet and now it's our turn

It's strange how human-centric the reporting on climate change is. Nature is not seen as having an intrinsic value of its own, but its value is solely dependent upon what it offers humanity. This is a fundamental problem with our relationship to nature at large. We see it as an other, as a tool to be used for our own purposes. When really nature is an integrated, interdependent whole, which we are a part of. There is no dichotomy between humans and nature. There is only nature, and we humans are a part of it. If nature goes, we go too. There is no way around it.

It's not humanity that is the problem, it is the Narcissists and Psychopaths who are drawn to positions of power

That's correct. The aim of these psychopaths is to blame us on all issues, as a tool to control feelings and wills, also to demoralise and divide the people even more.

Yes, but the majority of humans continue to buy the products and eat the food that are made/grown in a way that is destructive. No one is forced to buy fashionable clothes, eat food jetted halfway across the world, and keep buying loads of tacky tech every time it's updated. Like drugs - we can say no. However, the majority say yes, yes, and will keep saying yes! Your average citizen will give in to the adverts, give in to peer pressure, want to 'show off' what silly, new things they have, want to appear 'different' than what they really are with make-up, jewellery, new clothes and possessions. The elites make up just 1%. A greedy, wasteful 1% that is true - but we the 99% put them there by buying the stuff they push. It's all our fault.

There are millions more of us everyday people than the Narcissists and Psychopaths and we can’t keep sitting back and placing blame, expecting governments and scientists to fix the world for us. If we want humanity to survive as a race we need to act now.

Got some bad news, every one of those narcissists and psycho/sociopaths is a human being so, yes humans are the problem. Those of us who aren't in that category are enablers as we use their tech because modern life demands it one way or another.

@@p4nd4b01 Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment. Having a bigger population in any country than the country can support makes no sense. Access to food, water, shelter, energy and jobs should guide population levels. The worlds population is still expected to add another billion people to feed, clothe and produce pollution. Humans are crowding out all other species of plants and animals. Education and birth control are key to reducing poverty and hunger. Having a child that you can not provide for yourself is cruel and irresponsible. We need solutions not just sympathy. Endless population growth is not sustainable on a finite planet. Every country needs to "TRY" to be more self sufficient. When there are not enough resources to sustain a population something has to give. Countries need to focus on quality of life for their citizens and not just quantity of life for cheap labor. Why import fossil fuels when wind and solar energy can be produced locally and solar energy can power electric vehicles. We need solutions not just sympathy.

Just heard our own city a mention - Kolkata (previously Calcutta)! Wetland destruction here has a 70 year history! It started under the then Chief Minister of West Bengal Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy (a highly celebrated doctor by profession & also a celebrated CM) to build a new township! In course of time that township expanded and engulfed the adjoining areas! Water drainage from the Metropolis suffered as naturally used to flow towards east (opposite to the Hoogly river)! Don't know how many plant species disappeared, no one ever cared to take any note! Treatment plant effluents being released into it's remaining portions (whatever there is) will surely kill the rest! Dr Roy died in 1962 - we still celebrate all his good works as well as his misdeeds and act accordingly! Voices like mine are a microscopic minority & trolled badly on social media!

Complex society created complex needs => Simple society create simple needs. The world as you know right now? All countries create cities and farm land. Not everyone are born to be farmers but everyone can be train to be farmer right at their place to increase the amount of foods that they can grow at home instead of buying from farms. The amount of veges each person can grow at home could help to reduce the amount of veges each person need to buy from supermarket = to reduce the amount of farm lands that this complex society need from the nature world. The amount of veges that those people in the cities could grow to feed themselve will reduce the amount of farms right outside those cities. Thats only on theory. But in a complex world? The amount of farms outside those cities created not just to make money from those people in those cities but also to sell to another country to make money from those foods and farms. The problems with the world enviroments right now created by those in power to control those lands. Buy and sell those produces and foods around the world. A complex world make the battle to fight for the health of this world enviroments became harder and harder each everyday. Furthermore, the amount of forest had been cut down for the needs of "furnitures and housing" also destroying the effort to save the nature and the world enviroments. 8 billions people out there. 8 billions needs. A complex world created billions of needs on foods and living that putting the world enviroments in danger. The only way to help this world to save the enviroment is by looking straight into those problems in each country and put those problems straight on the table of those world leaders. Only them have the power to change the world and help the future of this world. If those 8 billions people still busy fighting those wars to have the right to make money off those lands and control those lands. Good luck to the whole world. As you all know. This planet is not big but its also not small. Its divided into countries with different rules and laws and mindsets. But when will those mindsets really and seriously think about the future of this planet? Its a question to 8 billions people. Not to just one person or 1 country. Even if the US can become the best place to live on this planet but they dont care about the other side of the world? They will feel the destruction of the enviroments too. To change the world and help the world enviroments? You needto unite and call out for the help of all countries living around the globe.

The problem is economics and economists. They created a ‘science’ of producing and consuming as much as possible as quickly as possible. It is not the only way to live, but nothing else will fit their ‘models’ of how they think it should be. And they control every government and politician on earth. Their criminality knows no bounds.

@@Captain.Pugwash As in many many example of diversity, ecosystems, rainforest, and nature habitats around the world had been watched by many many people and professional. You can all see what is an healthy forest and what is an unhealthy forest. The problem in today about forests around the world and how nature forests had been disapearing more and more is because of the way this planet divided and how countries and people are taking over the whole planet for "cities and farming". You can see it through Google Earth. The problem is that: Nature created by Nature. And if you want to rebuild Nature? You need to use Nature to build it. Everyone can see that. NATURE = WATER, SOIL, PLANTS, ANIMALS. To have all lives created until today and created the Nature that human trying to save? You all need water and land. To be able to save those water and land? You all need to be able to manage those human all around the world. What they do and how they are destroying this planet? No one really care. Too busy fighting for the power to control those lands. Too busy fighting on who will make the most money out of those lands. Too busy fighting on how to create more and more rubbish technologies from those lands. Thats why human around the world right now destroying this planet and nature faster than it can rebuilt. Nature on this planet can rebuilt by itself if you just let those animals free from "Zoo" and those land free from "human". Instead breaking you head about how to rebuilt this planet nature? Ask yourself how this planet got divided? How all human are mining those resources to "develop" and killing the nature? How those human enjoying their "traveling" and "luxuries lifestyles" and destroying those nature? Those "luxuries lifestyles" those fancy cities and buildings, those cars or fancy technologies, those weapons and wars? Created by destroying the nature of this planet to have it. Instead of breaking your head on how to save this planet Nature? You all should be breaking your head about how to stop those human from enjoying their luxuries lifestyles and technologies and how to stop those human from being fancy and adapt to the nature. The nature will die by itself while those human busy fighting for the right to save those nature on their own. Look at the world. Divided into countries, divided into different "Philosophies", divided into different religous, divided into different mindset, and divided into different ways to make money from those lands. Those lands got destroy again and again and again by human. Thoughout those wars, those civil wars, those reunited and breakout again and again and again. All because of one reason only. Who will have the right to make money from those land they are controlling. I got to say. If all human could really think about nature? They will all united in 1 piece of land and build a country only and leave the rest for nature to grow and that will automatically create a healthy planet and nature. But the reality? Only human can see it. Poor countries have no money and knowleadges and power to build a society or country that be able to solve all human problems. Because? Everything need money to build nowadays and plus all countries want to have fancy lifestyles and cities and so human mindset start to forget about the nature out there. A kid born in the woods will love the nature more than a kid born in the city. Simple. And if you keep on building cities everywhere? How many kid will start to forget about nature? How many kid will get scare of the nature? Many kids nowadays got scared by many many different animals out there in the nature. Many many kids nowadays forget and don't even know about the benefit of plants and trees around them. Why? Because of the lack of the "love" to nature? No. Because they don't live in the woods. They born in those cities and got used to cities life. Many don't even understand why there are chicken wings on the table. Many don't even know how those Burgers are on their tables. They do not care. And how many countries really care about saving the nature when they are busy farming and making foods to have money to build their own country and cities? Many of them only focusing on how to farm, how to have more and more foods to sell around the world, to have money from those foods to create their own cities and country. Like, lol. One part of the world busy fixing and calling people to save this planet and nature while the other side busy destroying it to create their own cities and the right to control those land? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 look at all the wars around the world and ask yourself what are they doing? Building and saving this planet? Or destroying it even more? Lolz. They cant even keep "peace". And you ask them to save the future of this planet? Who will listen? Good luck. Just like what happening to all rubbish right now around the world. Rich people only focusing on making more and more products to sell to those poor people. Rich countries only focusing on making more and more technologies to sell to those poor countries. But at the end? One person making more money than the other? World war is already around the corner. 😂😂 saving the nature? Better ask them to stop creating war. Better ask them to stop being greedy on lands. Better ask them to stop making more and more problems for the nature. Best way to stop plastic pollution? Stop making plastic and using plastic. How many country will be able to solve those plastic waste and rubbish problem? Once war start. No one really have time to care about those plastic problem anymore.😂😂😂😂 how to save the future of those ocean? Stop eating fish and stop farming fishes. How many will stop? 😂😂😂😂😂 to stop destroying the nature? Stop pumping chemicals out to the nature and stop destroying forest and put animals into farms and zoo. 😂😂 how many can stop? Lolz. There are many many problems. Just like how to stop destroying all nature? Turn human into apes. Lolz. How many can become bushman nowadays? Good luck to the nature and the future of this "High Tech World". Lolz. They rather create another world in Mars than saving the Nature of this world. Good luck. 😂😂😂
