Your patience is ten times what mine is, after a day of watching a bully in the tank he will be removed, it stresses me out too much to see fish acting like that towards others when they haven't done anything to deserve it

Your not crazy! I have experience with this as well I have a blood parrot cichlid that is stubborn and loves to pick fights with my jack Dempsey cichlid! And the blood parrot is a baby! And yes fish actually have this much personality! Every time I do a water change I get to know my fish even more!

@@dwsdarius Ngl I was having this issue with a jack Dempsey and a red Oscar. Where that one Jack Dempsey would just attack it. It eventually did kill the red Oscar. But since that Oscar died the tank has been peaceful. Watching your video I am thinking it was that those 2 were probably fighting for who was higher at the bottom of the tanks hierarchy. And now observing it I can tell what the hierarchy is in my tank. My lemon Oscar, the larger Dempsey and then the smaller Dempsey.

The worst fish is the cowardly overly aggressive type...They watch for a higher ranked fish to be on the run from another and chrage in trying to injure...Runs from head to head challenges they only attack from behind...They bounce around like the boss after bullying a non aggressive species...So aggravating but it is very satisfying when they get caught in their ways...And yeah i believe you're right...cichlids especially are alot more cunning than people think

Can't agree more on Red Terror. I had a few through the years. One of the most aggressive American cichlids I kept. I bought my current one, that looks exactly the same strain like yours from Jeff Rapps about 9 years ago (1.5" size). It became a beautiful 11" bad ass female female. Jeff claimed they where descendants (F1) Ecuadorian wild caught parents. It behaved similar to yours , especially when it was younger, I think it melted down with age considerably. I had to remove several other cichlids from my 220 gal 6' tank (Pearsei male who was way bigger and Cuban cichlid female of the same size with terror). My RT became friendly with other Pearsei 16" brother and try to make him to breed with her, its the reason she turned overly aggro and started beating on fish I mention above, I have several 10" clown loaches and school of 6-7" Silver dollars and most of the time lately RT does not bother them. Probobly don't feel any danger and competition with them. But one time I want her to become a terror she doesn't, lol... I made a mistake a year ago and purchase 2 Banded Leparinus after seeing many videos of them in large tanks with cichlids holding they own.. well my little, compare to RT and others in that tank, now 6" "hyenas" nasty fin nippers and Red Terror just forgive them and not attacking or chasing them out like my Firemouth at 90 gal did and kept them in check, but they grew from 2" to 6 and I decide to move them over to big guys.. I was even worry Red Terror will kill them, but here we go, they nasty bastards who nipping slow moving fish and I have only hope when leporinus got bigger, may be then RT turn on them and show who is a boss. If not I will have to do this huge job to drain almost full tank and remove all decoration to be able to catch them and donate to LFS.. What a pain in da butt.. Sorry for a long rant but I know many people watching this video understand what I feeling about it... The only time I saw RT being in this submissive role is when I breed them and their babies feed of the mucus on parents body...don't think they treat leporinus as their babies:)

Does it go after the vieja because they are of similar color ? Regardless it’s a gorgeous fish

I don't think he's targeting them because of their color, he targets my starry night cichlid which isn't close in comparison to his own color. His objective at this time is just a higher rank
