Palomar knot? Are there any benefits of using a barrel swivel vs using a similar quality ball bearing swivel other than cost savings?

I just like how these swivels perform and still not sure on that knot 😂

Improved clinch knot aka improved trillen knot, either way, I use it on all my light line, and I run 2 foot leaders, I've had giant pike suck down 8" jerk baits and swimbaits and 18" of leader, there be monsters in them there waters, PB is 35 lbs so far, still trying to break that state record (Montana USA)

One question: what is the strength test in Lb rate on those snaps you using? Specially the #3 I was testing out one of those and started to bend at 15 Lb test it was the sides #3 same brand

I go for bass mostly but get bitten off by alot by big pike. Mid 30 inches. So you think 60 lb flourocarbon would be good for a hard hookset and tight drag with pike? I Use wire but they dont bite that at all barely, neither do bass.
@DWSOutdoors7 ай бұрын
I’ve gotten away with 30 so 60 should be good
@therealkosmora2297 ай бұрын
@@DWSOutdoors Awesome, appreciate that ! The pike only hit when I'm going for bass with light flouro or braid. Once I toss my baitcaster with 40 lb braid and a wire leader, I literally can't get anything to hit lol.
@DWSOutdoors7 ай бұрын
If you ever want to stay light but still use a wire leader you could learn how to crimp your own leader with 7 Strand like this 👇🏻 and you'll get better action out of your lures! amzn.to/4eEfioz

60-80lb Fluorocarbon is pretty tough stuff! If you ran into some crazy big northern like a 40+ or a 50in+ musky you might get a bite off but for the most part I have not been broke off going as low as 60lb Floro!

I have found 60-80lb Floro has a very high sheering strength vs braid with a very low one! I have had 60-80lb braid shredded by pike teeth!

@@DWSOutdoors cause 50 dollars is approximately my yearly budget on lures right now. If I take away my live bait budget then maybe I'd be ok. I'm still using the same topwater lure I used in 1993!
