Amazing shots! Love this video! Did you use any red or yellow filters for the coral shots??
@WhatMyLensSees5 жыл бұрын
Thanks much Julian! So that’s a really good question! I have bought red filters recently, but on this trip I didn’t use any filters. I just shot in a flat color profile and then used adobe premiere pro to bring that blue tone down just a bit to make it look more like a view from ones own eyes. But I’ve definitely got some underwater filters in my bag for the next trip underwater 🐠 appreciate the watch, nice comment and channel support!!!!

The reason you do not need filters here is because it is very shallow, less than 5ft. At 15ft the benefit of a filter becomes apparent.

indeed this place is as you see it , truly amazing, i had the privilege of floating down this coral garden nov 1 2024 at a little below a brisk pace ( the current moves you along)and other than making sure i didn't float over anything that want to scratch or sting me accidentally i was in complete awe and astonishment. IT TRULY IS AMAZING!!!!

really appreciate the comment and always fun to hear from someone who's made the long travel to see the Coral Gardens with their own eyes. Really happy to hear you didn't miss it. Such a spectacular underwater setting, and hoping to get back there one day once travel becomes a bit easier 🤞 Thanks again for the comment! dan

This was the best snorkeling I’ve experienced. I did it twice. The first time, I went on the northernmost side of the pass. It was gorgeous, but the current was very strong and it was a struggle to avoid hitting the coral as I passed by. The second time I did it a few years later, I went on the southernmost side. Just as gorgeous, but the current was much much more manageable. I was able to stop midway a few times and enjoy what I was seeing much more.

Dude! You amaze me every video I see and the crazy thing is I know you and everytime I think you’ve gone as high as possible in quality you go up even hire. The under water fish shots are some of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen. National Geographic honestly doesn’t even bring this type of quality. They need to hire you one day from now they’ll see this portfolio and be blown away. Sorry for a long comment it was well deserved and I appreciate all the videos, they bring peace to my day.

hey there brother ... always appreciate the support and thoughtful comments! Believe it or not, this was mostly all filmed with a gopro hero 5 with a dome port attachment. Just amazing the quality you can get underwater with such a small camera. It didn't hurt that the fish weren't shy at all .... and really did escort us thru their home. Such a cool experience and hoping we can get back here someday! If you keep mentioning Nat Geo in the comments, maybe one day they'll take notice lol!!!

@@WhatMyLensSees Will definitely be looking forward to see your footage if you visit again! I've heard my wife mention Tikehau before as well (she runs a travel advisor business that focuses specifically on the Pacific). When we were in Bora Bora, snorkeling was pretty great too - look up Tohora Bora Bora for snorkel/swimming with whales excursions! And Rangiroa has Tiputa Pass, which I believe is a world-famous scuba spot. We only saw it from above the water, but there was constant dolphin activity as they jumped over the waves. Happy travels!

Interestingly, if you googlemap "Coral Gardens, Taha'a," you'll get "Jardin Du Corail" (on the left/WWN) and "Coral Garden" (right/NE). I suppose the Jardin, which is close to Le Tahaa, is what is shown here. Is it Mt Otomanu/Bora Bora in the background? Also, is the Jardin accessible to the general public, or does it "belong" to Le Taha'a?

Hi there, I wish I could help but we actually stayed at Le Taha'a which is basically steps from the Coral Gardens. I'm guessing there's day trip tours from Bora Bora, but unfortunately couldn't recommend since we didn't use ourselves. Best of luck getting there ... it is a truly special place and to this day, the best snorkeling we have ever experienced!

Yes me and a guy I met travelling in Bora Bora didn't know of anyway to get to Tahaa. Then on last day at a campsite I was on the owner was giving me a ride to the airport ferry but also to Argentina girls who were staying at the camp and he'd manage get them a boat trip to Tahaa, I was so jealous. Guess best bet would be to ask around and pay some locals if I was you
