You made this dive sound enticing in the last episode and it did not disappoint ! It was a visually stunning magic world of coral homes to all beautiful fish, the angel, cute pufferfish , the yellow & black fish. The huge living blue lined clamshells were gorgeous. Then when you surface its rare that the beauty matches, but it does here ! Thank you for sharing this amazing piece of paradise not lost.🐟 I Love your Trespassers Review !!That was a Good one, with the shack & its restaurant !! Really looking forward to you showing off~~ Bora Bora !! So nice they named it twice ?

When we chartered in Raiatea in Jan 2020, we totally missed the Coral Garden. We used GPS and it put us about 100 meters farther West and the coral was all dead :-). Good to see that we just missed the site and that its not dead. But the BEST snorkeling is down the West side of Raiatea where the Anapa Pearl Farm is. The reef is absolutely beautiful there. Better than anywhere we have seen in the world.

Sailing Kooks...man I respect your patience with the catamaran/condo so close. I don't have that in me yet (there's still hope?). I get super frustrated with that type of ignorance/arrogance. Weekend warriors with no concept or experience of how situations can turn serious as nature chooses.
@stevepeterson5943 Жыл бұрын
When other boaters are absurdly close to me I moon em, no joke. If you're close enough to see all that, you're tooo close. Also, when I'm at anchor and a powerboat goes by creating a huge swell sending me rocking, while trying to cook or shower. . . A-holes.

Hi James thanks so much for your videos and content absolutely awesome much appreciated.I’ve been to FP 3 times in the last 5 years my favorite place on earth now been to all the islands in Caribbean and in my eyes just can’t compare to FP. what has been your favorite place in FP so far, I think mine is Tetiaroa just a very special place. Enjoy BORA BORA and hopefully you will get to see MAUPITI one question how dose FIGI measure up to French Polynesia
@SailorJames Жыл бұрын
My favorite place in French Polynesia was either Moorea or Raiatea. Fiji is unbelievable. A very different vibe, way less touristy and raw.
@loubonaparte5063 Жыл бұрын
James I admire your restraint when speaking about the encroachment of charter boats and their poor choices when it comes to anchoring.... Not often you show that side, but you said it so well without any directed anger shall we say...lol... This is YOUR life, and for those folks to put you and your vessel in potential danger (seemingly over and over) is not nice shall we say. You really said it well and any earthling (my pronoun) choosing to travel via the sea would understand what you risk!!! Well put. Class act as usual. I sometimes wonder if you even read the comments, but I leave them to help your cause!!!!!! dam tourists!!! HAHHAHAH ... kidding... just go drop anchor not so darn close to me!!!!
@SailorJames Жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s a learned skill that I have developed. It makes life much easier but I can still handle my business when people put me at risk. I totally read the comments and try to keep up and respond when I can, sometimes it’s not possible but I always read them unless I am on passage, thanks for leaving one 👍🏻🙏🏻

Maupiti is worth the stop, as is Suwarrow and Pukapuka. If they won't let you in to Suwarrow, can you stop at Pukapuka? Amazing villages and like stepping back into time... you won't find fuel (always a shortage in the Northern Cooks), but should be able to get fish from one of the local viillages.
@SailorJames Жыл бұрын
Didn’t end up stopping at Maupiti but had friends who stopped, looked awesome. I tried to visit Suwarrow and they wouldnt allow me to to because it’s still closed.

Hi James, another great video... If the Med is in your plans to visit, wait until you get to Greece during high season. Sailed there last summer and it was packed! Fortunately, no incidents where I was, even during strong meltemi blows. As per the resort... it sure looks very nice but, check the rates and probably that will answer the question why it was so empty 😀. Thanks for sharing your adventures! Fair winds

Actually the rates for most of the resorts that are not at Bora Bora are comparable to a shitty hotel in America.

Thank you for sharing James. I have watched some other vids that show the Coral Gardens on Taha’a, but your vid is likely the best I’ve seen. I am hoping to go there this summer ~ I understand that July / August timeframe may be the best time to visit, as the precip is the least at that time. Glad you showed the path at the gardens ~ that looks like the way to do ‘er. 👍
@SailorJames Жыл бұрын
I was just telling an old friend yesterday that her and her husband should book a trip to this resort, it’s not as touristy and the snorkeling is unmatched !!! You will have a great time !

@@SailorJames Thanks for your reply James ~ much appreciated. I’m not a sailor, but I do have a huge credit voucher on United Airlines. That means free airfare from my home to papaeete. From there, Air Tahiti offers multi-island hops including a flight to Raiatea. From Raiatea it is just a short ferry boat ride to Taha’a. Your vid has inspired me even more to make this trip in July ~ and you can bet that I will stay on Taha’a long enough to snorkel those gorgeous Coral Gardens several times (in both directions, as you mentioned) ! 😎
