DX Commander is Back! | Replacement Mast for the DX Commander Classic

I raised my DX Commander about 6 feet above ground with raised radials....just 6 radials as raising the antenna and radials require less radials. My DX was on the ground previously and while being a great antenna with 32 radials, raising it and the radials made it an awesomely great antenna. Way better receive and my signal reports were way better.

Looking good. But I think the plastic ring needs to be below (not above) that upper plate to isolate both plates.

Hey Captain...you did a fantastic Job Pocket dialing on Your Cell Phone. Not many People know this Trick doing Phone Calls without Siri and Alexa's Help. I think the UHF female (SO239) should be installed from the front of the metal plate and fastened from behind.

The clip eas to go BETWEEN the ground and active plate. The new pole is metallic and will short the elements otherwise. You may have discovered this already. 😂

Darren, I know you have 2 Zero five Antennas and now you have the DX classic. To you think that the Classic performs better than the zero five. would it be worth the upgrade? Thanks Tom

Yeah Tom, The DX Commander Classic performs better for me. I've already sold both of my Zero Five antennas. For 80meters, I use a double bazooka.
