I’ve just had the 14 day trial version and am blown away with how its dealt with my raw IR shots. It’s like having a whole set of new prime lenses. I will be buying it😄

A nice tutorial of useful software I have the original; DxO PR which is great for everyday use. I tried the free trial version and found it very good as you have demonstrated. HoweverI can't get the upgrade to 4 at the upgrade price and I can't justify the cost of a new full installation so I shall just have to try and keep the iso range lower. Thanks Dave.

Thank you . I would like to see a comparison on that image between DXO Pure Raw 4 and Topaz Photo Ai Although the noise was eradicated I thought the result was artificial looking .

Hi Dave. great video as always. I've been using PR3 and am super happy with it. I downloaded the trial of PR4 and ran a single raw image. Using all default values It took over 1 minute to process the single image compared to 20 seconds in PR3, so I uninstalled PR4. I guess i could have played around more with the settings, but I find that if I don't see a benefit straight away I generally won't bother. Also, I'm not prepared to pay another $79 (AUD$120) for the upgrade.

Thank you for this detailed comparison! An issue occurred when updating from PureRAW 3 to 4 caused by third-party image editing software such as Sony's Imaging Edge or IrvanView. When processing in JPG with PureRAW4, the default color space is now Adobe RGB instead of sRGB in PureRAW3. Therefore, cheap software renders Adobe RGB with color loss. In addition, you lose the license for PureRAW3 after purchase. The parallel comparison shown here in the video is only possible if you install the test version of PureRAW4 in addition to the existing version3. DxO support is great. Upon request, version 3 and version 4 can be activated at the same time. According to my bug report, the color space of the export will probably be selectable in the future.

Thanks Dave. Although your demo made v4 look a worthwhile improvement for me, my download seems to have some catstophoc bugs. Preview doesn't work, it is only very occasionally that I can get a succesful run, and when I do, the results match v3 very closely and take the same time. I'll wait until it has matured a bit and try again.

What about Photo AI vs Pure Raw 4?

I like Photo Ai because I can take care of focus issues like missed focus and remove noise from the entire image or selective parts and in different degrees. However PureRAW is a great solution for images that have good focus and you just need to remove noise. Plus it's quick and easy.

great tuto. This preview is nice. Can you compare the same image in LRC denoise ? Does PR4 work with jpeg coming from iphone (too lazy to use LR mobile camera sometimes) or camera ?

i had a picture of a duck, surrounded by few other ducks. I developed the raw (basic>auto), cropped the image on main duck and followed your way and pure raw 4 opened the full screen image instead of the modified file. How can we change this ?

If no X-Trans support then it is of no use to me. I don't see anything worth the $79 upgrade price over my PR3 anyway. But, thanks for the look.

I prefee it to Topaz Denoise AI because int keeps it in a RAW format.

Don't buy from DXO. Their support is WORSE than terrible.
