This is how I started dying discs. I got a pretty serious injury and had to sit out for almost 6 months. So I tried one. It came out amazing. So now I'm addicted...lol

Did you add any silicone oil to your dye mix

Watched this video a while back and am just rewatching after recently having used Floetrol. 16$ a gallon? Ha, its minimum 50$ Canadian about 35USD right now. Interesting how you discuss using multiple discs on single beds. This will be very helpful for my next Floetrol attempt.

You can reuse your beds as well(rebottle the medium), if you have a 100% dye covered bed it shouldn't be any different than new, but anywhere the bed leaves a blank space it will leave the faded old bed colour. If you want a pure bed, you can fill the bottom half of the bed with old medium, and use new on top. I think it works better on the clear glue type of bed though, because with the medium and the bed being the same material, they will probably mix/contaminate more strongly.

@@coast2coast00 thanks for the support. I was having major fits two months ago because I couldn’t get cells out of the Floetrol and it was just too expensive to keep experimenting. However, since then I have found a cheaper source (I pay about the same as I do for a gallon of clear glue), reused beds, and have pulled out discs that have cells on them.

Great vid! I’ve tried glue and lotion beds and so far lotion beds are my favorite but gonna give this a try for sure

Did he say you can put it in the bed and then remove it a let it set... Or do you have to leave it in the bed? Around 8:40

I'm wondering the same thing

Yes, you can lay your disc in the bed, then from that moment the dye is set in the pattern. You can remove it and place it on an empty bed for the colours to set. If you let it set in air it will dry and then stop dyeing, or the dye can run and smear. The new bed holds everything and keeps it wet. Normally you just let it set in the bed, because you are doing one disc per day, and don't need to worry about mass production.

About how dye for one of those 8oz bottles?
@PastHisPrime3363 жыл бұрын
Great video. To mix the bottles you said there was no acetone, do you put in the pro chem powder, mix with a little water to dissolve and then add in floetrol and shake it up or do you mix the power straight with the floetrol in the bottle?

He says in the vid. Pro chem with a little water to disolve and then all floetrol

Cell beds look so dope but I've never been a fan of the outcome. Just doesn't look good

I think the disc he made would have looked amazing if he left it in longer. There's like colors inside of colors inside of colors.

I agree with this. Of the 100+ discs I've dyed, only 1 was a cell bed. Something about the design doesn't resonate with me.

There is more then one way to doing cell beds. I'm sure you have a way that works well but this is also a viable option for people.
