Even though I already saw the disc in the thumbnail, for the reveal, I still audibly said, "That's badass." Killer work, as usual. Gonna try it right now!

Love your content, you in particular are a big reason I got into disc dying. I get very excited every time I see you posted something new. Thank you for your hard work, and the pioneering of so many techniques that are now frequently used!

That looks so freaking awesome! Love all the colors and how the bottom turned out.

Dang. I’ve always wanted to try this but felt like I was going to push the design off of the top while submerging the disc. Great job. Can’t wait to try this.

Hi Rob. I really love your vids. You seem to be the foremost expert in floetrol dyeing. I'm about to try my hand at it for the first time, big thanks to you. I have a stamp I want to keep free of dye. I can't seem to recall you ever using any masking in your vids. I'd love to know what you recommend.
@LilbotDiscGolf Жыл бұрын
For the most part stamps don't take dye so they don't need to be masked. Some are more fragile than others when it comes to heat, so try lower temps if it's a holographic stamp and you want a better chance of it staying undamaged.

@@LilbotDiscGolf Thanks for your response. I should have been more clear, though - there's bare disc within the stamp I'd like to keep undyed. I'm hoping to mask it off. Curious if you've had any luck with glues or anything like that.

The back of that disc looks amazing, what would the technique be to get that look on the front?
@LilbotDiscGolf Жыл бұрын
Would be very hard to do because of the air bubble that would be trapped under the flight plate. Not sure it's possible

Beautiful! I wanna learn how to do this. How's this work on non-white discs?
@arveolderei9080 Жыл бұрын
Probably just the same, just expect variations in color depending on the disc-color. Blue disc all yellows will be green etc, and mismatching colours might turn brown/muddy ish

Can you do a video on what you use, and what you make the paint with, like how much of what powder you mix with what? I know you have floetrol as a base, but is that what's in the bottles too? Or you can reply to this too :D
how long can the floetrol beds sit and still be reused? can it be used 1 day later? 1 week? if left covered with plastic wrap?
@LilbotDiscGolf Жыл бұрын
Work plastic wrap you can probably leave it for up to 3 weeks

How long does this disc stay under the lamp with the 250 watt lamp? Some of my stamps are ruined after the dye
@LilbotDiscGolf11 ай бұрын
Some stamps are more sensitive to heat than others. If you have a stamp you're worried about having some dropout use 105 degree heat for 3 hours. You can use higher heat for less time if you aren't worried about the stamp
@MatthewSluman Жыл бұрын
Do you do anything differently with the heat lamp once’s it’s been dipped now that the floetrol is on the underside of the disc or is the underside just getting hit with the heat lamp more directly ?
@LilbotDiscGolf Жыл бұрын
Heat lamp is positioned as usual, but it seems it needs a bit more time to get good saturation

@redice6879 Жыл бұрын
I can’t believe the dye took to the top so quickly! You must have only waited ~18 seconds before you pushed the disc down which I completely expected to smear your end result!
@redice6879 Жыл бұрын
Is there really nothing more needed than 20 seconds for the dye to set in the top and not smear? 5:35
@LilbotDiscGolf Жыл бұрын
So long as the bed is deep enough you won't see any smearing if you push down right away
@SnappySnapfire Жыл бұрын
How well does the paint stay on when played with though?
@LilbotDiscGolf Жыл бұрын
It's not paint, the color is dyed into the disc so it doesn't change the flight characteristics at all and the color can't fall off
