I read somewhere that using some coconut oil on your hair before you go swimming it helps coat the strands and keeps them from opening up and releasing the color

Thanks for the witchhazel mention. I am coloring my husband's hair that is only on the top with the sides shaved. Lunar Tides has a lot of good and bad reviews. It has a rep of being messy and I am hoping the witchhazel will work for us.

Yeah there wasn’t a ton of staining when I did it, but I know what you mean. Their dyes I think are a little bit more liquid but I hope the witch hazel will work for you!

I'm hesitating wether I should get a mixed up of blue and purple or I should do a split hair myself with a dark blue and a purple blue... And hesitating between Manic Panic and Lunar Tides 'cause I heard Lunar Tides didn't stay that well on hair so... Any piece of advice anyone ? Thanks !

It didn't really stain my face at all and the first time you wash your hair the water might run purple a little bit but it's not that much and stops after the first wash or so. In my experience it wasn't messy at all

I find that if I sweat hard then my hair colour runs a bit. And each time I shampoo it bleeds a bit as well. But I have not managed to permanently stain any surfaces, and the skin tinting lasts maybe 12 hours. Last time I used Nightshade, and I’m about to use Plum! Loooove my lunar tides colours

What is the difference between "nightshade" by lunar tides and "purple rain" by Arctic Fox?

Honestly, It's really hard for me to tell the difference between the two shades, the color and how it ended up looking on my hair was very similar. But I would say that Arctic Fox's formula is a little bit thicker whereas Lunar Tides is a lot more looser of formula if that makes sense.

Thank you! Yes, it does work on non bleached hair it just doesn't show up as vibrant and it depends on how light or dark your hair already is

Lunar tides have deeper colors that can work with unlighted hair. Some of the colors have slides with different hair colors.

I think I ended up using around 3 tubs of it for my length of hair and I might have even had some left over, but I can't remember. I feel like you will have enough with that amount!

what do you like more the Lunar tides or Artic fox? did you ever have any trouble with lunar tides, i bought some and did my hair twice and both times it washed out pretty quick

I think I like Artic Fox a lot better because I used the Lunar Tides dye in this video but then had to retouch it about a month later with Artic Fox dyes and that has lasted me a couple months without fading!

It actually didn't fade to a bluish/green, It barely faded that much and it's more of a lighter purple now. But I do use a purple shampoo and conditioner to maintain the color, but I think this dye holds the purple tones very well.
