That gradient turned out so amazingly! The blend ended up so nice ands of course it'll only get mixed even more smoothly when spun (depending on the technique, of course). Do you have any desire to do a yellow to blue blend? I would love to see that (and more using Jacquard Chartreuse in general)!

I love the combiation of j. chartreuse with blues and yellows. I haven't done this on fiber but I"d love to at some point. I feel like I do have a yellow green blue colorway that is more recent, but I'm blanking at the moment.

I think if I ever get into doing roving with neon dyes, I'll crochet the roving and dunk it in black first. I've always had a thing for black and neon... glad the silk took the dye well, I'm contemplating spinning silk when I start spinning since most wool makes me itchy to wear, though I do plan to start with wool and learn how to weave on a triangle loom, that seems like a sensible way to use up all the wonky yarn I'm likely to make as I learn to spin.

OOOOOO I'd do the reverse maybe! Braid it tightly and then dunk in black after dyeing the neon colors? (This way the black won't bleed in the next dyeing step.)

I typically list the color names in the video description (in a section called "Video Contents" and that's where I have timestamped chapters listed. In this video I used Jacqaurd Fl. Orange and Hot Fuchsia Fl. Yellow & Fl. Red

@@marie1933 Oh! When I used "fl." above that was an abbreviation for fluorescent. I hope this helped

I use my slow cooker to dye yarn. Would it be possible to use food colouring AND kool aid in the same dye project? I’m trying to get a black dye mixing food colour and use orange kool aid for parts of the yarn. Would I just dye it as usual in my slow cooker?

You absolutely can do this! I often supplement koolaid with liquid food coloring drops (if I've dissovled the koolaid that is) so that I can get more pigment and use the citric acid that was in the koolaid. You can dye as you usually would in the slow cooker, but depending on how things go you may need to add more acid (but I'd wait and see - you may not need more acid)

hi there, i was wondering, do you use 1% dye stock ? I also would like to dye a gradient (roving) (but I use powder dye)

If I'm making a dyestock to use across multiple videos I will make a 1% dye stock. If I'm mixing a premeasured amount of dye for one video, I don't worry about the concentrationof the dye I'm mixing because I then Plan to work it through the yarn. so it really depends.
