It's time for some academics to stop saying there were no other "dying and rising gods" in the ancient Mediterranean or that Jesus' death and resurrection does not fit the pattern of other mythological archetypes. That claim is simply not true.

Wow, good presentation man. Ive seen many presentations and read many books of the type, Carrier, Price, yourself, etc., people on gnostic informant and mythvision , and i have never seen such an open and shut poignantly argued case. Case closed, in a coffin, with a few nails. You can often imagine what apologists would argue, "the jews would never borrow" "it wasnt a physical body" "well yea but plutarch was after the gospels" , well, dont give this presentation to a Christian in real life because they would probably call you the devil, punch you in the face, and run away, because this is perfect. Congrats, you did it man. And btw, i didnt know you werent a scholar, that makes this even more nuts.

Interesting Inanna used the food and water to bring her back to life; it reminds me of the symbolism seen in the sacrament of bread and wine. Literalists NEED to say their Christ is unique, isolated, and not a part of a common pattern in order to claim a unique claim to a 'real' god, otherwise their belief is just an off shoot of one of many at the time, ordinary and expected. Bennet's kind of historicism would hold Romulus as historical, he may well have been a real figure, maybe more so.

So Richard Carrier has several times said Jesus is not Osiris 2.0. He's clearly right. Here we have an egyptologist saying Osiris was a test run, so a beta, which would make Jesus more like Osiris 1.0... 😂
