one Mario rumor I heard back when Odyssey was just released was about unused costumes in Odyssey. I can't remember what kind of costumes were rumored or whether any of them were real, but if any were real, hackers probably found them, so there are probably videos out there talking about these costumes. another hilarious Mario-related rumor was that a Cappy hat was available in A Hat In Time. of course the original game didn't have it, but the modding community for AHIT jumped on it and added a Cappy mod. so that one turned out to be somewhat true.

That Mario Paint DS thing sounds like WarioWare DIY, it's heavilly inspired by Mario Paint and uses a lot of the same assets, you can create animated games, draw comics, and make music. The game also had Wii connectivity.

Funny enough, that no-death trick does work for other games. Mega Man 3, for example, will let you play through as an invincible Mega Man (falling down holes won't kill you because you have hyper jump and damage does not effect you - but you can still die from spikes) if you hold down Right on the second controller.

He wasn't, but it was close, since he would have been part of the planned, but failed, multi player mode. Only a few months before release, Luigi was cut. But his model and such were leaked 24 years and 1 month after release, probably as an Easter Egg from the leakers

I love that the fountain in Super Mario 64 returns in Super Mario Odyessy. In Odyessy, the fountain is still blurry even with the Switch game being HD.

If Michael Mann named his son Hugh, he’d be Hugh Mann. Maybe Yoshi is a similar case. That being said, I can’t off the top of my head think of an example of a named Yoshi, so maybe Yoshi culture doesn’t have the same concept of names as human culture.
