Thanks for this. I’ve been a Muslim my entire life. I’ve learnt a lot from this podcast. My wife was a Roman Catholic who started learning Islam to disprove it. She didn’t like Islam and Muslims (media) but she never said anything bad about Islam. She had questions regarding Christianity and when she asked priest she was told “don’t ask questions, just believe”. From Islam she got the answers and made complete sense. She wanted to stick to the true religion of Jesus and she became Muslims. Next day she tried to fast. Got too hungry. After 2 weeks started praying. She used KZbins “how to pray” video as help. She wanted to become a practicing Muslims. She started to wear hijab. She kept learning more and more. When you know light is light there is no need to stay in the dark. It’s refreshing that Dylan can decipher between the those who can and cannot give naseeha gently. May Allah SWT guide him. The fitrah is obviously shining through as he’s seeing past the idolotry etc. in other religions. Also, Andrew giving Dylan his Quran got me 🥹😭

Dylan, just want to point out, even though the people critisizing Andrew are lacking in tact and self awareness, the motivation behind their criticism is still the thing you admire about islam: steadfastness and solidarity when it comes to respect for God and His revalation and respect for the religion. Yes, their communication needs a lot of work, but they are motivated by love for God, not antagonism toward Andrew.

Sorry to hear that, may Allah make it easy on reverts everywhere. If it's because of where you live maybe you've to consider moving, I don't believe this is the case of majority but the most ignorant will have the loudest voices online. There is a Hadith where it comes a time that practicing Islam is difficult but adhering to it at that time will be the reward of 50 companions of the Prophet pbuh, we are at the end of times, we will be tested, everyone their own way, do not lose hopes the reward of the patient is beyond reckoning in the next life insyallah, saying alhamdulillah at the first strike of calamity alone will grant you a house in Jannah. Theologically all sunni school of thoughts r same. Shia theology is way different. For example shia hate companion and family of rasulullah and also call Ali ra (A man) for help.
