Unfortunately, my mother would choose money over my dream. I wasn't allowed to study Geology on a private university even though I have 40,000 pesos yearly tuition allowance on scholarship, she said that I have to think about the other 60,000 since Geology cost 100,000 a year. My sister was willing to pay, but she would always say that she'll be too embarassed to ask my sister to pay for my tuition. I will be studying a course that I just close to Geology, I will be facing subjects that I am worst at, I would be facing Chemistry and Biology even if I excelled in Earth Science and Physics. I would be venting out my frustration here, you can stop reading if ever. It was not my fault that they cut off my education program when I was a kid, when my dad still have a work. It is their responsibility to make me study, I have good grades, I've graduated on one of my country's best high school, with high honors. I am a government science scholar. I am buying my own school materials ever since I started high school. My sisters are the one giving me allowance since the 7th grade. I honestly don't know why this is happening to me, I've never asked for anything big, I use a broken laptop, my phone would only last 30 minutes until my sisters gave me one as my birthday gift. Both my sisters studied in the city on a private university. I buy my own essentials, I work as a teacher assistant, I do my classmate's homework for money. I sacrificed my volleyball so I could focus on academics. I've been trying so hard, I have been trying to satisfy them, although I don't think it was enough to surpass my sisters. To be honest, I am qualified to the university's 50% Scholarship discount, My sister is an alumni so I have another 15%, I have the scholarship which could fill up another 50% but I was still not allowed to, it was the same university as my sister

You should just go for it. Just work hard for it like you're already doing. Later on they will realise that is the right choice because it is your life at the end of the day. If all you said were true, then you are amazing and to go somewhere else or do something else will take that spark out of you. Later on, that will take the life out of you and you'll be left like a robot and doing things that you don't like. It's so hard to be in a place you don't want, doing things you despise or just not passionateor even happy about. I feel that in my bones. Some parents just don't know the impact of this things to their child, to a person. Someday, they'll be gone and you'll be left with a hole and that what ifs and your heart is gonna break everyday unless you'll enjoy the other path they've chosen for you. Remember, respectfully, it's your life and it's unfortunate that there are mothers like that. Can't you take the same course but not in private university?
