I have been a photographer for more than 70yrs and this is by far the best video tutorial on how to apply toothpaste successfully that I have ever witnessed, I also learned a great deal more about DOF values. Sometimes I have a slight problem with my tongue, it often gets stuck inside my 'Cheek", do you have a video that covers this subject,. Unlike most explanations made by photographers, yours is more scientific which is to my opinion way better to understand the concept.. Interesting video. Thanks a lot. I think that when you talk about changing focal length u mean changing the distance between the same lens and the sensor. This modifies the focus distance and do not change the focal length which is a physical characteristic of the lens it self. So, by simple terms. Changing the focus distance comes back to changing the distance of the object to lens. Hence the two first ways are the same. If you want to investigate the effect of focal length on dfov, u need to change the lens. Considering this is the case, and now u have a wider angle lens. At the same focus distance, this will decrease the dfov since the reflection of rays is wider. Optics are challenging, so maybe I'm missing something. Feel free to comment it out 🙂.
