I love your videos Dylan! I just have a couple questions. I want to get out and shoot in the water. Are you treading water the whole time? Isn't the water housing heavy? Is it a ton of work? Seems intimidating at first. How does it work out?
@DylanBrayshaw6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m treading water but with fins is really easy to keep swimming, also I wear a wetsuit top which is a little bit bouyant. The housing is neutral only heavy when you lift it out the water.
@DylanBrayshaw6 жыл бұрын
The first time you try it it will be hard, takes a few swims to get the hang of it, changing settings in the water and knowing where to sit. A lot of fun really.

Thanks mate, yeah burkeigh is a nuts place when it’s busy. It’s just normal here to compete for waves like that. That’s why I take photos haha 😉

Typical BURLEIH TESTOSTERONE.... If you want to go where the waves are pumping but the crowds are still at Burleih and Snapper, and if the hand full of surfers are relaxed and with a dash of "nice wave fella", well I can't tell you!!! You'll just have to find it yourself. I'm 45 and began surfing the Goldie at 8 years old. These days it's the place I surf the least. If you want to get really serious about surfing photography, I think you need some hard work on the fitness side of things. It wouldn't hurt to train without the cam for a few months.You obviously have a feel for the sweep, but that was a small day. Just as a tip; you really need to be sitting just in the line -up and a few metres wider than the DROP ZONE, but when the surfer comes off the bottom, you are not to0 wide that you are getting pulled toward the beach, but (as I said), just inside the main line up but not too wide... You will find that the sweep will be inverse as you stay tucked behind the waves with the toes of the last surfer in the line-up. If you get your fitness and experience up, the yobbos dropping in will be hanging to rip a cut back just for the cam....then pull through the back of the wave and swim back to the toe of the line- up. If you are truly fit you will take 4-5 waves and get the best spay off the cutty in the lense, and recognise the dude that got barrelled, then pull through 4 more times on a small day like that. (Burleih is renown for its sweep,.... just like evry other point break!!!) Good luck mate, If you get really good I will take you to my prize break, but it wouldn't break until the swell is twice that of your shoot 27 March 2017. Its worth it!

fuckin pumping
@davek77537 жыл бұрын
I would take one wave just to say I surfed here, then I'd surf the beach break. That crowd would annoy tf outta me and most the barrels aren't even able to be made.
