You should've heard what Kyrie said about Kenny Atkinson. He said "Coaching is a collective effort" "We don't need a coach who makes us run on the first day of practice and tries so hard to instill a philosophy" I can't even blame Steve Nash for being a bad coach. What was he supposed to do?

Miscommunication was the problem that never got solved. Both sides expected more than the other was willing to give. Both sides thought they were being reasonable and the other side either went too far, or was not going far enough. Ultimately, peaceful co-existence was solved at the expense of all parties going their separate ways. 🏀

NY was the problem, not the team or the players. KD and Kyrie were more than enough. Due to covid in the liberal state of NY prevented KY from playing resulting in no chemistry between all of them. That's the thing simple minded people don't understand. Having a line up of great players means nothing if you don't have chemistry. The 92 dream team losing to a college team proved that. 🙄

The nets could have let play without the vaccine but they decided not to. The Nets management and NYC politics just wanted to make a statement by not allowing NY players to play home games but allowing visiting unvaxxed players to play.

I get the point about Steve Nash needing to give Durant rest by calling a time out, especially after playing 53 minutes and everybody knowing where the ball was going, but I think, and I could be wrong, but the obvious reason wasn’t negligence, but to simply have an opportunity to have another opportunity in case of a miss and an immediate foul for free throws, hoping at least if one free throw is missed and having an opportunity to advance the ball and also thinking about it to draw a play for a shot that would very likely have to be an immediately catch and release, not to mention the Durrant is very capable of creating his own shot, very apparent, looking at what he did when his toe was on the line, super difficult position to be in for Steve Nash, especially when you have Kyrie saying they don’t need to coach to tell them how to play and basically, definitely a lose lose for Steve Nash if they don’t win, not to basically micromanage and it seems like KD felt very similarly, because if this was executed, and you know they would be calling Steve Nash an amazing coach just like he probably would’ve still been roasted if he used it and they have no way to advance the ball especially after may be a missed free throw, all this in my opinion at least, but what do you guys think I’d love to hear your point of view on this?

The biggest mistake the Nets made was trading all their depth for James Harden. They literally had a perfectly constructed team of 2 super stars and plenty of great quality role players. Gave it all away to become a top heavy team. The problem with having top heavy teams like that is that you are one injury away from the season being over. On the other hand if they had kept their main guys along with Durant and Kyrie, they would have been able to sustain an injury with how deep their team was. Probably would have won a chip too if they never traded for Harden

The funniest part is that despite Nets fans claiming Brooklyn had retroactively won the Pierce+KG trade after acquiring their big 3, Harden and Kyrie would both demand their trades days after being blown out by the Celtics by 30+ on two separate occasions 😂 And then fittingly, KD's last game on the Nets roster before being traded was an L to the Suns, meaning he technically once again left to join the guys that just beat him 🤣

I disagree that they were all in their prime, James harden was overweight and not himself before being traded form Houston, Durant was coming off a major injury... Kyrie was still Kyrie tho but with the pandemic and clear mental issues that he's sorting through, there are legit reasons why this big 3 failed

The only one that ever showed up for BK was KD so none of the blame should be on him. Injuries were not his fault but he always showed up on the court when he played & gave 100% effort. You never saw him just being out of games for “personal reasons/mental health days” or doing dumb shit on social media. Kyrie, Harden and Simmons never had his back. End of the day I just have to laugh at the Nets while my Knicks are doing way better than them. KD once said: “The Nets are the cool thing now, not the Knicks.” Lol I wonder if he still believes that all the way from the west coast in Phoenix.

He definitely deserves some blame the least of all the parts but definitely some. He wanted Kyrie to be there (He wouldn't have signed with them otherwise) He wanted nash to be the coach and got Kenny fired. He also wanted DeAndre Jordan to start despite being a blatantly worse player than Allen( this also led to Allen being traded)

Durant just supported Kyrie … was willing to stay… all the nets had to do was tolerate Kyrie… or find someone else good enough to support Durant. They can’t expect Durant to stay once they got rid of the only supporting star. The Mavericks had the same issue as it was rumored that Doncic was getting frustrated at carrying the full burden - like it or not having Kyrie on the team ease the burden on a star player. If they can’t tolerate Kyrie then they should have gotten someone of the same caliber to support their star.

Kyrie is a homewrecker. He's entirely predictable: sign with a new team, play well for a while, get disgruntled, say conspiratorial nonsense in the press, alienate/blame teammates and coaches, lose a lot of games, demand an escape, sign with a new team, repeat. I have absolutely no idea why any NBA team would want him, but they keep lining up and he keeps taking them down.

Unlucky is right - KD's foot was such a ridiculous moment, even moreso in hindsight. KD's foot is just slightly smaller or in a slightly different spot, the Nets might have won the chip, but the Bucks *definitely* wouldn't have as they would've been eliminated at that moment. I mean, I'm glad Giannis got his chip, but it would be a huge shame if Harden doesn't get one during his career.

I feel like the organization took a gamble and let the players run the team. The nets superteam was meant to win a ring, not become a dynasty. There were clear signs from the start that Kyrie and KD's egos would make the team implode eventually (kyrie and KD making the coach start their friend deandre jordan despite him being a trash player, as well as getting an experienced coach fired). The hope was that the team could win a ring before things fell apart... and they almost did, the nets just got unlucky super unlucky with injuries: if BOTH Kyrie AND Harden don't get injured in the post season then the nets prolly win the 2021 championship, and even if the team imploded the next season, Brooklyn would have gotten a ring and it would have been worth it. This team had an expiration date, they only ever had one shot to win; kyrie and KD would destroy the team eventually, the nets just had to take their one chance before things fell apart, and that chance was the 2021 playoffs, and they just got unlucky

KD is the modern day Pippen. They were both exceptional player but can be quite sensitive. KD needs a Jordan, a villain, to feel better about himself. Pippen acted out upon leaving the Bulls, mirrors KD's journey around the league. KD wants to prove himself, that he can be the leader on a team just like Pippen's desire to step out of Jordan's shadow. However, KD and Pippen were both too mercurial, too sensitive to anchor a team. When they lose, they need an asshole to scream at teammates then they can play the "good cop" and console them. Both Pippen and KD did not have it in them to discipline their team into playing their best.

Excellent video. As a C's fan who was crazy excited for the Kyrie trade to Boston, it was cathartic watching a video about how most of the issues were directly his fucking fault. Bro played like ass for us in the playoffs and then has the gall to step on the logo like he didn't shit the bed himself. The 4-0 sweep was a icing on the cake of Kyrie's comeuppance. Ps. James Harden can be a bit of diva but I 100% agree with his frustrations on Brooklyn, specifically the vaccine/Kyrie issue. Also the fact that they only played 16 games in like 2.5 seasons is wild asf
