I feel like they always solve problems too easily. In season 2, they made it look like being queen of hell would be awful and Nick sacrificed so she wouldn't have to. Then in season 3 it takes like 1 episode for her to say "eh okay" and become queen... To save Nick. I get the intention, but it made his sacrifice almost pointless. Besides, they keep bringing things that are supposed to be so dangerous and difficult only to solve it in the same episode, like some of the eldritch terrors, for example. Also Sabrina always wants to help everyone, but she wants to do it on her terms rather than listen to what the other person needs, which is just selfish. This whole thing with Harvey's brother made it hard for me to sympathise with her.

Harvey's arc is actually pretty good too. He is very self conscious at the beginning because he's a "coward", and his brother is the only one in his family that gets him. But he wants to be brave for Sabrina and in the end he has to be brave because of Sabrina and kill his brother. They also show how he's not comfortable with the whole shooting living creatures stuff he tries to do it cause he want to fit in and be respected by his family and in the end he is forced to man up and shoot the only family that really matters to him.

Episode 5 - So the point where she "seals" the demon in a vase was all in their heads a shared dream state before being separated into their singular nightmares, this entire episode isn't about the nightmares themselves, it's about showing us their inner fears and it extorts that to show their biggest flaws and this episode is really there to break down these characters for the next six episodes, I got it quite easily, however the performance of the Demon was very iffy, it didn't terrify me, which I think that was the point but honestly it reminded me of an 80s horror villian that was all the way cheesy. However I really liked the nightmare sequences, I think they were interestingly made and the intertwining at the end is probably the best part for me. My favorite nightmare was Ambrose's, the weaker of the nightmares was probably Sabrina honestly, that was probably the laziest of the four. :) Honestly I loved this series, it's up there with Evil Dead (original and the remake.) It has that comedy/creeper vibe that I love in horror and I'll probably watch the rest in due time but I didn't sleep for watching this show lol.

Harvey actually accidentally calls Sabrina 'Sab' once in the TV show, the Valentine's Day episode of season one. He made a big heart with arts and crafts for her that said: Happy Valentine's Day Sabrina! But the sides of the heart were uneven and Harvey loves symmetry, so he kept cutting it smaller and smaller until the shape was perfect. Unfortunately, that left the text: Happy Val Day Sab. He tries to play it cool, saying he thought Sab would be a cool nickname. Sabrina is utterly disturbed by this, Then he confesses the fuck up but says it's the same reason why he loves her face, because it's very symmetrical (this still leaves an awkward adorable grin on her face, but she likes the sentiment) THEY ARE SO ADORABLE

The witch religion is basically a backwards, satanic Christian religion, there's a ton of similarities. Nick was never gonna date nor truly care about Sabrina. He's friends with her and very loyal because he worships her father. Almost all witches are instinctively pansexual and polyamorous because Satan wants to selfishly own all of their everlasting love. Blackwood comments on how he wishes witches were once again purely polyamorous after a tryst with Zelda. So Nick's involvement in the orgy, although he wishes to obtain the love between Sabrina and Harvey, is not strange because it's the teachings of the Academy under Blackwood. My major theory rn is that the twins at the beginning of the series, the ones from her dream, are the Blackwood twins or Sabrina and her twin. In the ABC show, every witch was born with an equal twin, one good one bad. Now I'm not sure if that was the writer's choice in storytelling or something from the original comics, but Riverdale has a ton of twin characters, so it may be possible. It might also be the same for the Blackwood twins, the son might be raised to be as devout as his father, not evil per se since the witch religion relies on the Satanic teachings that are not evil in their eyes, and the daughter, although pure witch, will be raised human and see the world as whole, not mortal and witch. Especially since Blackwood is the High Priest and the vessel for Satan, the hooves might have signified that. Another theory in a theory is that Sabrina might not be as young as we think. Perhaps her name in the book as a child might have deterred her aging. Her hair turned pure white when her full powers took over, so maybe she, or even just her soul and energy, is older than we know of.

Apparently there are two reasons that there is this extreme blur effect according to my brief research, but it is valid enough for me to accept. The first thing is exactly what you said! Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is also a head writer and producer on Riverdale. He wanted to distinguish the show from its peers and predecessors, especially the comedy tv show Sabrina the Teenage Witch. He even cast actors that had never seen the 90s tv show, to avoid the possible influence. Secondly, I have read that the blurred edges effect, only comes on screen when something witchy or spooky is taking place. Which is why it has such a drastic switch back to the original recording without the blur effect.

Bro. When I started the show, I thought it was gonna be so good. Flash through four seasons and I didn't take any of it seriously. My mom and I were just crying/laughing at how bad it was. It actually made me appreciate the old series way more. Especially since they stupidly removed the most awesome character ever, Salem the cat. The badass, funny, bitter, villain trapped in a cat and forced to stay and babysit a dramatic teen.
