Definitely would like to see it without all the age crust on it and cleaned up. I know with a lot of mil trucks you can just spray out the interior too since there isn't any carpet. Might help evict your spider buddies. I almost think it needs a light rack and a spotlight since it's your working truck for the shop.

The late '50s Dodge C series cab was used into the 1970s. In my opinion of the quad highlight era of the late '50s, the '58 to '60 "Power Giant" is super cool looking. '57 was one year.

I have the exact same truck, a D500, in sky (baby) blue. Bot mine from a farmer, in bad shape, but the best thing was that is was one of the few equiped from the factory with a hemi. Use it for my construction company, a great workhorse. I've rebuilt the motor, all hydraulics-mine is a dump, and functions 100%. Needs a paint job...Great trucks.

Big John kicks ass. Bringin' him back from the dead. The idle sounds really nice after solving the tank and carb problems. I would love to see John undergo a total frame off restoration with a hot paint job and cherried out wheels. If I had John I would build a nice oak stake bed for him. Dylan, you are so much fun to watch with these old rigs. I would certainly enjoy being your helper for a day....I could learn so much. Am waiting for the next Big John video !Just a side note Dylan....Something that works well for me in regard to cleaning bulb sockets are plumbers copper fitting cleaning brushes that come in several diameters. I usually am using the 1/2 and 3/4 brushes. You can even cut the brush from the handle and mount it in your drill motor and that works slick.

Love the 57 styling! I learned to haul grain on a 56 Dodge 3 ton with a 331 hemi. I was 12 and hauling to the yard to unload. The mufflers had rotted off the factory dual exhaust years earlier and did that hemi roar. I was totally in my glory! So this truck strikes a chord in my very soul. Thank you Dylan.

Would love to have a nice big old Dodge like that to Drive around these days my truck went Ka-put. Put 2 filters between the tank and the fuel pump another before the carb to catch everything else. Ouch watch out for the mirror. Dielectric grease on all the light connections, Signal stat blinker box they used them in all older vehicles and they are still available today for your older hotrods. I think I would of moved the fender blinkers to the lower grill where the small lights are so they don't blind you at night by using a newer light made for markers and blinkers. Then put some small flood lights on the finders for those people who don't want to dim there lights or night time extra work lights

The one mustie uses has a built-in lever that the socket in is an unusual size. I wanted common sizes. Then I bought the $14 air hammer at harbor freight. Works great!

Something to remember when working on military issue vehicles......they ain't like civilian vehicles!! They are designed to be highly reliable, functional and easy to work on in the field, hence the electric fuel pump and the fuel tank drain! That truck is a good candidate for a Cummins 6BT or 4BT swap and used as a tow vehicle! Looking forward to this project.I had a 1962 Dodge Power Wagon with a flat head 6 and my brother had a 1958 D-100. Great trucks and good candidates for customizing!
