NEVER, would I have thought how much work and precision fitment was needed to do hang a front clip. How was GM able to assemble these from the factory is beyond me, however DC , after watching this video, are the only ones I would trust to hang a front clip. Brilliant, meticulous work. Thank you.

Your comment on the clamps instead of using screws , was told to me from a famous Corvette restorer that all the screw holes needed to be grounded down and body worked as well . Much more work .

This has been very informative to me. I've had my '67 since 1987. The body was pieced together before I bought it and I've always wondered what the heck was going on with some of the weird fits. Your video has helped me answer many of my questions. Don't know if I'll ever correct them but I've learned a few tricks from you that will help if I decide to tackle any of them. Thank you.

Funny for me, no matter how many times things are fitted , things always seem to change a little on the final assembly. I installed your wide front clip on my 67 a couple of years ago, The was the Quality was exceptional, The way you've separated the side panels is Genius. Although the side panels didn't lay in flat so they had to be bonded with some tension on them. After much head scratching I did basically what you did starting with the cowl , My hood surround was positioned by centering the wiper transmission shaft in the outer metal cowl grilles. It worked out well , it's fun to see someone else go thru the same process. Keep up the good work, Mantle

Great video. Very informative. I need to epoxy my front full piece clip on my 72. Purchased the epoxy from you'll a few weeks ago. Doing the test fitting now. Learned some new trick use ing the sticks and tape. I'm not sure how I'm going to keep the hood on though to do the install.

How do you know how many shims you need at the BOTTOM of the core support? Where it mounts to the frame horns.
@DynamicCorvettes2 жыл бұрын
Start with 2 or 3. Bolt everything together and see how the hood fits. If the hood isn't fitting properly and needs to go up in the front , add some. If it needs to go down in the front, subtract some.
