Trevor Wittman turned kamaru Usman a fighter known for only wrestling and little to no knockouts in the ufc, into a knockout machine, in what feels like a short time. Outstanding coach but hats off to Usman for making quick improvements, that’s also crazy. Don’t know who’s more amazing Usman or Trevor.

"Both knees grabbing the ground together" is such an underrated and rare piece of advice. It made a huge difference in my striking when I implemented that. It opens the door to really twisting the body around the center axis, which is where true power lies. Good stuff!
@LECityLECLEC Жыл бұрын
what does this knee grabbing mean?
@Cynry Жыл бұрын
@@LECityLECLEC it's hard to convey by text, but I'll try. Imagine that each of your legs is one side of a tweezer, and you're trying to "pick up" the ground with them. It's kinda like just pressing the legs together, except that you want to keep their structure intact, and not collapse the knees/feet inward. Makes sense?

That's what separates the best power punchers, with the rest. That fact that they really know how to use their weight and momentum to add some real power to their punches. A lot of MMA fighters struggle at this. Then there's Ngannou, where it doesn't even matter at all lmao.

I used to train middle aged white collar workers for charity boxing events. It was very difficult to get their hands and feet to work together. I only had 3 months and while we would work on this I focused on mental and physical conditioning to get the win. But if you are serious about the sport you will be at a huge disadvantage if you don't learn this.
