Are the links 1.2 mm, I'm not ashamed to say I copy your work over here in the Scottish Highlands. I'm happy to tell my friends to watch your videos. I've only being doing this for 3 months and it's cost me a fortune in tools but I've made 4 chains already. One necklace, and 3 bracelet. Two are the twisted one, I did one in 1.2mm wire and one in 1.5mm. You are a very talented man and an inspiration to me, I had to find something to do after a near death work accident offshore, this is the most enjoyable thing I've done and I don't see it as work. I have very hard skin on my thumbs/fingers now ha ha.👍🏴

I remember back 15 years ago when I appreciated under my dad to become a bench jeweler. The people who made the chains for necklaces and bracelets never let anyone watch them because of competition. So cool to finally see how it's done. Also remembering all those days with sore arms from having to use one of the manual rollers!

Unbelievable how much work is in such a chain. I was selling jewelry for 8 years and have never seen this. I would have not given even 1% discount!
@wendyhoechstetter3236 Жыл бұрын
It really is incredible - and you're actually only seeing part of the process here because he didn't show things like making every single link or the end caps, and sped a lot of it up. You also aren't seeing all the time it takes to pickle it after annealing, or how long it's in the tumbler to get that final mirror-like shine. The entire thing takes a good bit more time than he has shown. When I first started to learn to make jewelry, I gained an entirely new appreciation for the beautiful things I owned.

Itll be over 7 ozt when i make the box clasp, i couldnt have done any of this without copying you as i had zero eperience in making jewellery. Thank you for the instructional videos, im now going to pursue a career in jewellery and smithing.👍🏴
