Very nice! This video reminds me of the time I bought my wife's engagement ring. I spent many thousands on the diamond ring at a very nice jewery store. When I proposed, I said I used $40 in quarters in the gumball machines at the front of Walmat to get the ring. At first she thought I was serious and had reservations after I put the ring on her finger. She is still wearing that gumball diamond after 21 years. Best decision I ever made!!!!

It looks very easy, but I am sure there's a lot edited out, comparing the shapes and sizes and adjusting. What always surprises me is the way the solder is used. I see people pik soldering or using wire solder, but I was taught to cut small squares and lay them on with the flux brush. It seems such a slow and inefficient way, but it's as I always did it. I might have a go at this when I have a bit of free time. I have been planning on making a set of rings that I haven't made in a long time? Single stone, 3 stone, round cluster, square dress ring, coronet clusters and a couple of signets.

Taking notes: cut off piece of gold, throw on floor... :) Like the process very much, because its something you could conceivably do at home, unlike casting from a wax model (for which you need 2 ovens and a lot of heat). And with relatively simple tools (except that rolling mill thing, but maybe they make cheap hand cranked ones). He makes it look so easy...!
