My dads a retired mechanic. He’s always had long nails on his pinky and thumb. I asked one day what that was all about and why didn’t he clip them. He said the number of times he’d have to grab a tool for what his nails could do might have saved him a year of walking to the tool box.

Hey man thanks for watching I appreciate it and honestly obviously it's a really easy starting tuning engine I will suggest that you do preheat it because it's very tight. Wrap the cylinder head in foil to hold heat over 200°f

Mine didn't come with the spring. The pull start sucks though for break-in. Too much pinch for it to handle. Since I don't use the rotostart, I epoxied that metal center piece to the spool. Those locking cam things will otherwise round the plastic teeth in the spool they grab onto and will eventually slip. Maybe it's sufficient once broken in but unless you're really good about preheating it, the break in pinch will do it in.

I have the dynamite big red engine on my Revo. Anytime I buy a new engine I like it go ahead and buy a new piston and sleeve and connecting rod just to have around. However the kind of pricey and I was just wondering if there were any sh part numbers that you knew of that would work in this big red engine. I've already bought a piston and sleeve Dynamite brand I haven't found a connecting rod yet. I was hoping that I could find an sh connecting rod that would work and it would be about half of the price. If you know of any interchanges that will work for the business leave Rod crank bearings or anything like that cuz you please let me know. I will try to leave you a personal message with my email in it if I can figure out how to do it thank you

@thebug 404 I went an even cheaper route... I know it's a trial thing and I'll check timing when it comes in but I found a redcat sh .28 crankshaft on sale for under $10. So we will see? I know they run a 3 port... but the crank appears to be the same. They don't post any specs and I did see on a bearing site that it could be a 14mm shaft instead of 13. So we will do some inspections on arrival.

I have one of these BIG RED ENGINES. What procedure do you use to break in an AWSOME engine like that? I'm not looking for the quickest way to break it in, BUT THE BEST WAY. Please and thank you.
@thebug40463 жыл бұрын
There is no real quick way. It takes time! Preheat and idil for 4 or 5 tanks with some foil around the cylinder head to help keep the temperature over 200°f then basically takes it easy for a quart of fuel making adjustments as needed they do take about half a gallon to really brake in all the way but don't be afraid to drive it it's basically a longer version of the Adam drake method burn at least a qt before you go full tuned you will notice it will keep getting better as you go
@michaeltelshaw65603 жыл бұрын
@@thebug4046 OK, when you say idle, do you mean ONE FULL TANK EACH TIME, or HALF tank shut down and restart and idle again, or let it go, at idle FOR ONE WHOLE TANK? Thanks.

Tank 3 I just putz it around and make sure it's got temp to it. Tank 4-8 I drive around leaning the needles each tank and increase RPM reached each tank. When I got done with tank 8 it's usually close to a good base tune and done with break in. I usually keep the HSN every so slightly rich till Iv run 3/4 gallon.
