One of my brothers worked for Aaron Spelling & lived in his Mapleton manor for 6 years. Whenever I called him there, the operator would recite the last 4-digits of the manor’s phone number which changed every month. My brother gave me a tour of the Dynasty set as they were first building it.

John Forsythe was in a show called Bachlor Father in the 1960's..popular show. During one season, a young woman made her tv debut on the show. Her name was Linda Evanstad..later Linda Evans on the western The Big Valley, and would play Kyrstal Carrington on Dynasty with non other than..John Forsythe.

@@heidihurn9828 They try to be too "politically correct" with shows now, often overcompensating. Also, the viewing public now has a short attention span. If a show doesn't catch their interest immediately, they move on to the next one. The result is that there is very little substance on Network TV. There are just a lot of rehashing of the old "tried and true" formula which has worked for decades. The problem is that there is so little originality now that it takes a really special show to grab an audience like Dallas, Dynasty and other shows did in the 80s. Premium cable channels used to be better, but now they've reverted to a lot of garbage as well, always striving to be politically correct rather than entertaining.

I don't know much about Magnum, but Dynasty has fallen way short of what I expected. They spend a lot of time setting up the next joke. The OG was nothing like that. It's obviously not on ABC. Most of the shows on the CW are hoaky like that and I don't understand why.

I remember all the actors you showed in the video. My favourite ones were Linda Evans and Farrah Fawcett because of their hair, their hairstyles. The perfect fringes in the symmetrical frame of the first one where not a hair escaped and the leafy, airus haircut of the second one. I don't remember the end of the series they played. I confess that my adolescence and watching these series ended with the question from Dallas: who killed Jay Ar.... Really, what happened, who killed him in the end?
