I think the stage map also helps with the feel of this stage; you're in a castle in the middle of a almost completely white map, with the only extra color being red on the mini map. I think it really makes the enemies stand out on the mini map, only adding to the feel of hopelessness. Also, I really like the music, especially Hard Karma against Invasion, they just suit the stage perfectly. Also, I swear that execution scene exists mainly to make Cao Cao look like a badass, I really do.

I like the ending, especially when it shows a very few times where Xu Zhu is a total badass without his usual silliness.

The thing I really like about this stage is that the better the character, the harder the strategy, same with reverse. So even if you play as Chen Gong you aren't entirely outclassed and get extra allies, whilst Lu Bu who gets the hardest strategy to pull off which results in a massive morale loss for the enemy IF you can do it. Then there's Zhang Liao who has an easy one but doesn't get much out of it. Lu Lingqi also has special dialogue in this stage if you play as her in Free Mode too.

That final battle against Cao Cao was great . It was really cool that Cao Cao blocked the entery rage attack from Lu Bu and the fact that you barely managed to beat him with a counter musou was so sick.

Because of the fact that they made Lu Bu look so strong and arrogant that they can't use the historical way of ending his story. He was betrayed by his own men and requested Cao Cao to let him join and he will serve under him. But was turned down by Liu Bei/some of Cao Cao's men against the idea.

karma hits back really hard at you, sire. Lu Bu had betrayed Ding Yuan, Dong Zhuo, and Liu Bei. No warlords that would even wanted him to lend his strength but lacking tactical knowledge, integrity, and morale. Something that Lu Bu did not have in Zhang Liao, that can be noticed by Cao Cao.

If i remember right i don't know if it is in the novel or the history (though the ridiculousness may lead more on the novel than actual piece of history) he had taken an army of 80 cavalry to fight more than a thousand bandit (3000 thousand?). He won.

Who’s strategy do you have to follow if you don’t play as Lu Bu, chen gong or Zhang Liao in free mode? Cos I played as Diaochan (which was a bit strange listen to her criticising/questioning lu bu’s actions but she’s done it before) and I had to follow Chen Gong’s strategy once the water came in

It's very difficult in Musou solo, you'd need to be lucky and happen to have allied officers nearby. In Free Mode, you can have your bodyguards defend them.

Because he got outwitted. If you run everything by power and numbers, Guan Du should've been Yuan Shao's victory and Chi Bi would be a Cao Cao victory. Besides, Cao Cao himself has strong officers such as Dian Wei and Xu Zhu. Xu Zhu may I remind you dueled Ma Chao to a stalemate.
