Finally finished ALL the so called "New Characters" Stories. It was short but felt really long. Here are the story CG cutscenes and endings of Yuan Shu, Hua Xiong, Dong Bai, and Xiahou Ji. Enjoy! :)

From the first scene, the kid who snuck out oranges from Yuan Shu's banquet is Lu Ji, a second cousin of Lu Xun. Lu Ji would go on to serve as a scholar and military official in Wu. It's really cool that they snuck in that scene, which is from actual history. The story became so well known it became part of The Twenty-four Filial Exemplars.

RetconCrisis I am Chinese myself, and I never liked this story. The story is about being respectful toward one’s own parent. Although he is only a kid, it is still not right to steal from other people to please one’s own parent. Overall, it is not the best story to preach moral since it is contradicted.

I really hope DW10 will take place during the Qin Dynasty era and feature Qin Shi Huang aka Shi Huangdi as the main character. If it’s still taking place in a Han Dynasty era, I would really love to see a new DLC story in a what-if scenario featuring Shi Huangdi as the main antagonist, resurrected by Zhang Jiao. Wu, Wei, Shu, Jin and Others must work together to stop the Dark Lord Shi Huangdi at his own exclusive stage of Incident At Epang Palace. And make him as a playable character just like Nobunaga Oda from Sengoku Basara 3.

Hearing Lu bu speak like some kind of refined suburban dad who thinks he's the shit, is hurting my soul. The voice acting is soooo bad compared to the older games. I do not like the voice acting because: the intonations and emphasizes are off, words are unnecessarily prolonged or shortened, the emotions of the characters aren't represented well enough (example: 4:18, such rage and anger in his sentence and yet the delivery sounds monotone) and I simply miss the old voice actors. They have voiced the characters for almost 15 years. They KNEW their characters and although I am all for new voice actors getting a chance, it just doesn't compare (yet). You don't have to agree with me of course. Yes I like DW3 Lu Bu but that is purely out of nostalgia. The voice acting in DW3 was hilarious. As for his voice being historically accurate, it's not and will never be in English. If you want historically accurate you need a Chinese voice actor. His previous voice matched his personality, the one in DW9 does not. But once again this is my opinion, you don't have to agree :)

I agree. I know a lot of people complain of the English VAs in the past, but they had WAY more emotion and inflection in the way they spoke. The melodramatic voices added a certain charm. The voices in this game have as much emotion as a wooden plank. One of several reasons why I couldn't play 9. Shame... because Dong Bai looks like a BAMF

Kendall Fields Making someone your wife back then did not imply consent and without Yuan's permission, it would've been a forced one. At the time, she was 13 or 14 while Zhang Fei was around 40. Everything afterwards was would've been her making the best of her situation. The Yuan's burial happened around 20 years later so she likely bore Fei a child which gave her standing above a concubine.

Yuen shu apparently. Yuan isn't difficult to fucking dub. Yuan is said the same way Yuan is pronounced in chinese. This game made me angry 30 seconds in, let alone the custscenes and the gameplay. At least some of the voice actors actually pronounced Yuan correctly.
