1. Taking over the capital will destroy the enemy kingdom completely and give you the rest of their land. Jin can take over all of Wu turn 1 in "Fall of Shu" scenario this way. 2. You can "Change Positioning" during War Councils when selecting an invasion target. This will save you a turn. 3. Marry/Oath Lu Bu or Guan Yu and they will eventually gift you Red Hare and unlock it permanently for all saves. 4. Children have 5~ unique ability types you can only randomly obtain by completing the game. 5. You can create Custom Officers to replace any officer you want in Edit Mode in the "Name Section" by entering "Officer List".

Be careful taking too many territories. Your kingdom will be weak. If the defense level and troop levels are low. The battles will be extremely hard and you will be attacked so frequently, that you wont be able to defend. I ended up getting 2-3 invasions at once. And on chaos mode you wont be able to keep up.(Chaos mode makes this very hard)

How do I know if the territory is a kingdom's capital?

One thing I found out is that the game does recognize nieces and nephews when starting a new game. I started the game with the sister or one of my officers. The children of the other sister already had a companionship of "C" and the invite chance was 100%. This should work with all relatives.

@@DracoPadilla Dont make them through the edit mode. You have to start a family and go through the bloodline, like a family tree. Your first edit character will never have a sibling ironically. Once s/he have children, then the tree will start.

1. you can have multiple children rapidly after a play through. Instead of starting new game, select continue and choose the "CLEARED" scenario. This will bring you to the last battle of the previous play through. At the end you will have another child. be sure to save in a different slot. You can do this many times as you like, but DO NOT DELETE OR OVERWRITE THE CLEARED PLAY THROUGH UNTIL YOU ARE DONE. 2. Use Slash gems and weapons to defeat special troops quickly, especially on chaos mode. This is good for large scale secret plans. 3. Use poison arrows on officers only in invasions /defensive battles. one arrow eats about 1/3 of a health bar. 4. Use explosive arrows only on the main camp. 5. The musou attack and special attack both have preset elemental enhancements. Ice, Fire, Poison etc. If your musou attack or special attack has a ice effect. that means the weapon will work best with ice gems. 6. The old dynasty warriors 4 tower trick is back. Lure officers by the climbable towers during combat. Attack the tower and hopefully it will fall on them causing massive damage. on weak officers (with no shield) its almost an instant kill. Be warned it is very hard to do.

Something I wish I had known; The army system, I was so confused why the enemy would suddenly get super buffed and never get staggered by regular attacks, obviously causing me to lose. Till I learnt that it's based on who has the advantage in battle. The only way I found you can deal with this when it happens, is either by countering their attacks, and hoping you can juggle them long enough to defeat them. Or using your special/musou moves and do the same thing where you juggle them for hopefully long enough to defeat them. This works fine in 1v1 scenarios. 1v2 is what I would evaluate as the limit for how many officers you can take down. 1v3 is just GG, I've never survived such a case.

If you want easier battles on chaos mode, Your Grand General, Tactician and (5)Generals have boosted troop numbers. Deploy them along with your Ruler. There will be a drastic difference in troop numbers. Remember the more troops you have will weaken enemies more. Invading kingdoms with a single territory will be a lot tougher than invading a kingdom with multiple regions because the generals and tactician will be spread out. (I know that seems backwards). Defense levels matter also. If your defense level is 99 it will add 100 troops to your bases. If your defense level is 0, your bases will only have 90 troops, if your defense level is 99, your bases will have 190 troops. Defense levels also have an effect on siege weapons. Rams will break doors quicker in regions with low defense including yours.

I mean it makes scense if your attacking some one with one city then youll fight 100% of thier army versus fighting sone ob with 10 and only fighting one guy...it just makes scense

Shop keeps are the only vendor in empires. You can only buy arrows and gems. Weapons and horses have to be found by killing and befriending others respectively.

@@jeromebryant9999 No problem!! Also shoot for getting the epic titles they only show they increase chances of secret plans but they also effect the gems of that rarity as well. As for your military unit use the bandits they also take up your finding rates. I got super lucky and got 3 of the epic artifacts slash poison and fire.

Dude I wish they kept some of the other aspects of the other games and had capitals and rulers to add more flavor and have it be like the old maps on some maps and fort defenses on key fort points of the map aka you upgrade the defense of that location etc. They need to add more to it as it's a little bland BUT I wish over all they had Co-Op split screen or Multi-player on PC and console I know a few people and friends who would have loved go play this with me and such and can't because no online features. We are next Gen way beyond what time it needs to be almost guaranteed to have multi-player imagine you and a friend or 3 having to do policies together and such it would be cool maybe add some pvp elements in a way. There is a ton of things they can add. Also multi-player pvp or pve would need to have enemies and etc be at the highest difficulty if pvp takes place since it would add more to the game and make it more fun. The AI I wish got a tune up I love the combat changes but miss the 4 hit in a row combo and mixing it with the triangle or Y combo. Some things I wish they did and such they did some good but some bad. Edit mode codes are cool but would have been cooler if they had multi-player available

Edit: what I mean by different maps is they should have allowed for intercepting fights and such in such cases a fully defended territory would have a full 2 wall fort and entry points with a smaller timer etc. But ones that are low are more resemble of the regular maps where you just cap the supply chain and or just rush their leader or weak doors etc. Or have the regular supply chain maps be a thing in free mode OR like I said intercepting armies. You attack a territory and they have enough defense they can intercept you before you reach there and you have to fight both fights with the resources you brought for one. It would be a major game changer and strategy to have policies to scout before attacking to make sure there isn't a intercepting party etc. Like they could have soo much they could have done... I'm just mad they didn't add pvp or multi-player in general or coop AND that for some reason my Block button pulls up the menu THEN blocks instead of blocking and the menu popping up after. Just doesn't make sense

Playing this on pc right now. It's not bad but it could have been so much more. Battles being limited to sieges and defensive battles only was a huge letdown for me.
