If you like history. You can still see some of the old walled cities that are on the DW map in google earth. So far I have found several. The DW7E souchun map is eerily similar to the real area on google earth. I have found Wuwei, Hefei, Xiangyang, Fan Castle site, Souchun, Chang'an , Xuchang, The Wuzhang plains battlefield, which is highly similar to the DW6E map, Luoyang which is a few miles east of the current Luoyang at White horse Temple, Jianye which is present day Nanjing

The thing I dislike most is all of the unused space during battles. For example, they could have made the battle at Luoyang require the attacking kingdom to break through Hu Lao Gate before taking the city. The siege battles are fine and all, but they're all too small scale compared to previous Dynasty Warriors. Another thing that bugs me is there isn't much to do while strolling. If they had some mini games such as fishing, construction/repairs, or even one on one duels, I think strolls would have been more fun. Maybe even some kind of bounty hunting missions would have been fun too. Gathering information from civilians and soldiers to locate high value targets (officers/vagrants). Other than these nitpicks though, I'm still enjoying the game. I just finished my second playthrough and I'll definitely play again soon.

Using a bow to kill bears and tigers is fast way wolves as well

Certain towns and landmarks you discover can be used as fast travel points. Other than that, there isn't really any other feature I've noticed when exploring areas.

I know you could do this in DW9, can't remember if its the same in empires, but try interacting with different furniture/items in the hideout. The pot lets you cook, you can upgrade weapons at a forge, and other stuff.

I have a question. Can you take your vagabond unit and get employed by another kingdom?? I remember in the last empires you could help out kingdoms without joining them.

You can leave a Kingdom and join another yes.

If you leave your kingdom to form a vagabond unit or serve another ruler then any sworn brothers (up to 3) and your spouse if married will also go with you. If you make a vagabond unit, join up with a ruler and leave then you will be by yourself.

There’s really no reason to do any of this, I’ve been playing this game for weeks and *just now* learned that this is a feature. Why even include all of this for an Empires game when they could have just included some arcade modes or fleshed out the battles more.

No... your gems drop off the color of your title in general. Get a purple or gold title in hard or above.

I've also found. The higher your character lvl the better gear seems to drop

@@TheCriticallyClueless perhaps I beat the game. Then resigned and now beating all my old states over again. It's not that your lvl matters, but to get a gold title you need 10s and that t as ke time hence higher lvks

@@sagepirotess6312 this is simply not true. I have been able to get higher gems and artifacts long before getting the equivalently ranked title in a playthrough. Your title mainly affects the acquisition of secret plans you can obtain. The rarity of higher ranked gems and artifacts is mainly difficulty, and your level. That does not mean you can’t get epic stuff on normal mind you, but it is a lot more common on Chaos.

Aside from strolls what do you do to get more rations. Especially since it is super important to have a stockpile. It has been the sole reason why I’ve been fielded alone in battles with 1000 troops vs 10000. Also I do know you can hunt in strolls and the best thing to do is hunt packs of wolves. For me I use my Special attack or my musuo attack to beat the packs faster. As they will tear you apart. Don’t bother with deer, usually they will just get away and large animals aren’t worth the damage. Speaking of damage. You can also rest at camp fires. Though there is nothing to the world and it is free to fast travel so no harm in traveling back to a hideout. Another thing about hideouts you can save your furniture set up. So if you find a new place you like better just save your set up and load it up in the new place. It does nothing gameplay wise, but makes you feel at home. DW9 has been out for awhile and there is a lot of videos out there explaining the combat system. Yes it seems simple, but there are ways to combo your triggers to keep the officers from ever moving. And seeing how unfairly strong they are due to a damage shield they don’t need, keeping them from moving is worth it. So look and see if there are any videos on your weapon style.

Ration wise, I develop my kingdom and end up getting more per month. It takes a while as each development is only a +200 but it helps

@@TheCriticallyClueless there is simple option call "trade" and it just cost 1 turn and gives you 1000 of each resources and it can be ever easier with "adept leader" title that you can unlock easy, use strategist officers in your kingdom some more, talk to them a bit now I might not be expert just finish the game 5 times so far but wasting times on killing bandits in OW map is just boring, just saying

@dantles1992 True. Yet strolling for bandits and whatnot is a nice bit of fun practice. Not to mention given how quickly you can massacre 1000 bandits without breaking a sweat, why not end your stroll with a bit of mayhem after you've done everything else you want to on your stroll? Just saying, 5000 rations and/or gold isn't anything to sneeze at in addition to your gain from trades, agriculture, etc, esp. early in the game.

It can your right, but if you don't have that option it can help. Helped me in a pinch when i didn't know how to manage my kingdom lol later great trade helps massively too. 2k of each resource

@@alekesam I see your point but doing it one or two times is ok more then that is just boring, am right now playing with fa zheng with zurong as wife and wanna do evil reputation to unlock all those evil titles for my custom characters
