I was almost worried that this would be a younger prequel, because then we wouldn’t have a lot of the girls. Most of the girls are below 20. This is definitely not completely a younger prequel, because several of the characters look the same as they did in previous games

@@sakonan4883they might need to add some female characters. Lady Bian (Cao Cao’s wife) and Lady Liu (Yuan Shao’s wife) would be good choices imo. They would be present for a while too. Lady Liu in particular would be a good choice, as she also has a close connection to Zhen Ji.

I like the historically accurate depiction of Sun Jian, Cao Cao and Liu Bei being younger in the days during the coalition against Dong Zhuo. I believe at the time, they were only in their early to mid 30s Past Dynasty Warriors have often painted the 3 as being the same age group but Sun Jian began being depicted as having unkempt hair and looking more youthful while Cao Cao and Liu Bei were depicted as middle aged men

Damn, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei should be in their early 20s when Yellow Turbans rebel. And if someone question where is Li Dian I would say he is quite young Wei officer and come to Cao Cao after 200. And age between him and Yue Jin is like 20 years, so yes Jin like one of Wei veteran and one of 5 Brilliant generals of Wei.

It's a MC who has memory loss. Unfortunately, the game won't have CAC/CAW features for the MC. You can say it's the character who we have to play as. At some point, we do get the chance to play other characters.

Ah yes... i have nothing against reused assets since i guess character models are already there and had been designed for DW9, so it gets reused... if there's a reuse that hard to forgive and they didn't bring back... is the weapons style and combat style. Yue Jin is the prime example in that screenshot... he's going to be using spear, Zhao Yun/Ma Chao style; he introduced with Hookswords in DW8, swapped for Twin Rods in DW9, regain his Hookswords back in DW9: Empires, now lost it again and swapped for a spear. Dian Wei lose his Axe, although he uses Han Dang's Short Pike, he's in his Axe animation stance from DW9 since Axe, Short Pike, Boomerang share the same "clone" animations. Then again, they still going with DW9 or "mobile game" style combat with one button attack inputs like flow, stun, knockdown, launcher, special/ex, musou and all that, you get the point. Oh, Koei Tecmo and W-Omega Force... will you ever learn what makes Dynasty Warriors actually interesting for some people despite it being niche and not appealing enough to modern graphics like action style gamers that like deep combat system/style... other than you think being "realistic"? Weapon quantity and combat combo animation variety is also important as much as the abundant of characters that are going to use them, reuse the animations from the old games so "clones" issue are less prevelant, developers... please.

they are not going for renbu/flow in this game. they are going back for charges but not the archetypal C2 = Launcher, C3 = Stun, etc. i also feel the same about the weapons thing but i think it's because KT would want you to play with the MC, but with different weapons, as opposed to choosing to play as an officer.

I do like they implementation of more RPG style boss fights they have here. In past Dynasty Warriors, you could run around and spam Lu Bu with drive by attacks and just drag it out until he was KO’d. This one seems like you’re actually dueling the opposing officer

Hmm, the devs changing some characters weapon seems a bit weird to me, like Liu Bei now has Sword instead of Twin Blades, Yue Jin has Spear instead of his Dual Hookswords and Dian Wei for some reason has Han Dang's weapon instead of his usual Axe weapon.

Han Dang, Dian Wei, and Zhu Rong were clones of each other in DW9, so maybe that's why

@@tedjomuljono3052 if thats so then this is might be the DW5 extreme legend mode version that you create your own character, story and legend also you can use everyone movesets/weapons, i dont mind if they bring back the DW8 movesets or DW9 so we can use more variation than just reused Wu Long movesets.

Sadly Li Jue isn't unique. The exact same generic design as Xu Rong. Gongsun Zan can also be seen alongside Liu Bei during the gameplay footage, he's also a generic.

I can definitely tell Gonsun Zan is a generic in the gameplay, which sucks. When I saw Li Jue's face in the battle preparation menu, I thought he looked unique or semi unique.

you do know that this is a one character game right, you're just going to play as the nameless guy, the rest aren't going to be a permanent character even if Wang Yi is in the game you'll probably get her for half a stage play, and that's it

Wang Yi was around the time of the Battle of Mt. Dingjun when Xiahou Yuan died. It is unlikely because the Origin story tells the story of the time when Lu Bu died, before CAO CAO and Liu Bei broke up and became permanent enemies.
