It’s so crazy how it started as a sort of soul caliber style game, grew into a hack and slash, added tactical, Risk™ style mechanics to each generation’s releases, to whatever DW9 was, and now this?? Dynasty warriors 3 was my favourite back in the days, played it a ridiculous amount of times, I love the combat shift in this one, the hack and slash is still there, but the abilities and blocking/dodging makes it more engaging and fun! Good job 👏

4xl was me and my best friend’s favorite. Then I discovered the Empires versions of the games and got dw5e, loved dw8e, dw9e was alright, but this one looks awesome. I hope they make an Empires version of it.

Great job! This one took me a good few goes myself too before I learned the new mechanics and his patterns. It feels great when you have learned the boss and can eventually crush it. Just like any good action combat boss fight, everything feels unfair until you realize it isn't and do the right thing to counter each move. Truly a great showcase fight and has already made me much more excited for this title than I already was. (I would prefer a good co-op one but oh well)

Genuinely excited for this game. I've been a huge fan of the Dynasty Warriors series since DW2 on the PS2 - loved it! This is a fantastic improvement to the series. Roll on release!!!

Im a die-hard dw fan. Been playing this series since dw2 back in the early 2000s and every sequel since. Genuinely enjoyed the mindless hack and slash but dw9 really blew it for me. I've played the demo and absolutely love it! It still has the hack and slash elements but they cranked up the difficulty and implementing more strategies to make the game more interactive is so awesome! I really hope this does well!!

DW seems like it's finally finding its footing and applying other Koei Tecmo difficulty they've had with Nioh and other stuff into it because even on Normal the armies and especially the generals aren't pushovers and will kick your butt if you just mash attack buttons. Its really good to see.

Nothing that I could control just what was built in demo wise, I think you automatically regenerate health when at a critical level below 10% or something like that, and you lifesteal during musou rage(full gauge click in both sticks) but that might only activate during an assault attack from breaking an enemies guard.

@@jadarina5035 From what I can tell, all damage you deal while in War God Rage (full musou gauge thumbstick click activation) leeches health back to you. It's a great panic button. Excellent gameplay as well, by the way! Can't wait for the full release.

This was a frustrating fight with keyboard and mouse. Just needing to take off my hand off my mouse to heal with up arrow button killed me many times. Props to the player, hoping they review the game on release.

Sorta, perfect dodge and perfect blocks (parry) feel great. Perfect dodges allow you to dodge forever (regular dodges capped out at 2 and has a short cool down)

I’d probably wait till they make an empires game! I do not like this character at all! And we cannot customize our characters appearance such as body armor and helmet as well! The game is dope! It’s just the character looks goofy looken! I like my character look like an actual warrior with armor will see what happens down the road I’m hopping they do make an empires game When I first seen the trailer I was so hyped! Struggling to understand this game. There's lots of ADS and then they're basically forcing people to only fight generals because the enemy ADS don't do anything. I have always found Hyrule Warriors so much more engaging in almost every way and I still haven't even beat a single Zelda game. So don't say i'm some Zelda fanboy because I've tried replaying the zelda n64 games countless times and I can't get engaged with it but I feel Hyrule Warriors just makes the game more engaging because of ADS actually having more fundamentals. You take out the ADS and realistically Dynasty Warriors is a Souls-Like. Is that why people loved OG Zelda and not Hyrule Warriors?

Oh there are tons of regular enemies in the level, this is a special fight that activates after you finish the stage that I cut out of my footage to showcase the finer details of combat (and my skill)

its always been like that for the dynasty warriors games. iirc only hyrule warriors and fire emblem warriors have the more aggressive enemies on normal difficulty. also this was just the demo, the final game could change

Like @pinocchiofilms says most hit from Lu Bu is anywhere from 30-50% hp from what I recall in my attempts where I died. And he literally one shots generals. I got lucky the one hit I took didn't kill me.

I feel like this Lu Bu fight is way easier than in any other Dynasty Warriors game. I remember him being almost impossible to stagger, always in Musou Rage mode, and if you blocked his attacks for too long-especially the ones with the dark lightning effects-it would break your block, stagger you, and then he'd just kill you

To be fair, they are giving you new tools like dodge mechanics, perfect parry, and whatnot in this game which makes it a whole lot more fun. BUT if you do block too much, he will break your block, stagger or juggle you and than just kill you. THIS player is actually just doing a real good job, timing which attacks to block, dodging by a margin, and capitalizing on those opening. I couldn't beat this guy on HERO without strategizing my health items and retreating to bases to utilize the men there as a distraction.
