I have the same model. I use it indoors. Usually the kitchen is the hot spot for flying bugs. Before I crash out, I'll setup the trap in the kitchen or where you need it. Shut off all lights so the trap is the only light source . Wake up in the morning and empty out the trap. It's true, it's whisper quiet. When the fan sucks them down, depending on the bug size, the plastic fan blades can chop them up instantly , making the Dynatrap Insect Humane Trap. Instant kill not bug suffering.

I've got the bigger model, but I use the octenol attractants that stick right to it, and that makes a HUGE difference with mosquito catching

That fan is noisy bro! You need to dis-assemble and clean that sucker! Also balance the unit (use a level) by pulling or attaching the power cord to something so it stays level and plumb! By doing this your fan will last years!

@@replynotificationsdisabled Actually, I do! I am a licensed and degreeed mechaical engineer. IF THE CENTRIFUGE IS OFF BALANCE, it will eventually erode the fan motor bearing thus, putting a level on something that was designed to work parallel to level earth is quite a good suggestion. Also, by doing this it will ensure years of less noise related issues! Now, do you understand basics of physics and mechanical engineering??? Duuuhhhh!

Like that it traps mosquitoes, but moths? They are a necessary critter for fertilizing night-blooming plants, and are also a food source for bats & birds.

If you are in a tropical area, it will NOT last as long. However, if you do have a late autumn, winter and early spring then you can pack it up for those times. Be sure to do basic maintenance. One thought, especially where you have a mosquito problem all year near salt water is to buy 2 machines and cycle them around 6 months and 6 months. Along with mosquito dunks my dynatrap is doing yeoman service for me! However, I also am employing Thermacell "backpacker" device which uses a much cheaper variety of "camping stove" gas that you can buy most inexpensively compared to their little (and quite expensive) butane cartridges! All three of these together are doing the job as I have not had ANY mosquito problem in my 20' X 30' Brooklyn, NY back yard! Good luck!
