Dyno Fun Run.

Just for laughs, we put the Duck on the dyno at an open day (K&S Motorcycles). The numbers weren't great but there could have been a myriad of reasons for that. What we did learn was that the fuelling is pretty much spot on and it has a beautifully smooth power line on the graph.

It is supercharged and runs nitrous oxide. Don't know what the total top speed is until next year but it did a standing quarter mile in 9.51s@144.95mph.

Are you still running the BB configuration

No. We haven't been doing that since we fitted the supercharger as we had no information about air reserves in the plenum at the end of the cycle. We didn't want it running out before it got to no4 intake . I am thinking on trying it once the season is over.

166bhp 85ftlb torque. Down on previous runs but the overall setup is different so we think the numbers don't add up. We've never spun the rear wheel like that before which is an indicator of more hp than was registering. Previous session showed 184bhp 96ftlb torque and we were still in the mid to low tens. Now we have hit 9.51, we are pretty sure it's closer to 200.

Truly inspiring what you have done to the old rc36 engine! Thats an amazing amount of power. Ive followed your videos and I'm truly inspired with what you have acheived. I have 4 VFR's 2 rc24 and 2 rc36 !990's . I raced one over 10 years ago I'm building another but am now thinking of adding extra's. I know the engine itself is fairly untuneable so you must have done some lovely tricks with the super charge. Is it possible you do a more detailed look at how you developed it. I'm so curious. Thank you for inspiring someone to get back in the shed!!!@@TheFlyingDuckTheory

@billbelcher3214 thankyou for your kind words. It took a lot of work and as much luck to get this thing working. There are a couple of things we did which I cannot disclose but what I can say is that going fuel injection would have saved about three years of hair pulling. The trouble was that I made the claim I could do it with carbs and had to back it up. However, doing it the way we did taught me a number of things which were not known anywhere as (as far as I know) this format has never been tried on a VFR750 before. Next year will hopefully see us chasing a top speed record as well. Don't forget we are using nitrous as well which is a major kick in the power stakes. I have a page on FB which details our journey.
