Back in the day I built a 91 CRX. It had the D16A9 motor, which I turbocharged with a T3/T4. It ran a very basic fuel management unit (Dictator) with a wasted spark I believe. The build was done on a budget of course, but the money was spent on the neccessary stuff. With some road tuning and eventually got it on a dyno and managed to scrape 165kws out of it, but it was very, very reliable and I used it daily for a couple of years. Miss that car very much. Very good job that you have done! You should be proud.

the last part answered my question regarding how much I need to save in order for me to have the same set up. Can't believe it wasn't over 130k! Does that include the labor cost? I hope the businesses keeps on keeping on until I can afford it for my VTi Cyclone blue as well
@SRDmotorsports Жыл бұрын
Yep I was and the owner was surprised hence he went for it. When I made the list that also included the skunk2 intake and porting… Main reason I shared it is cuz, I know locally some places would claim 200-250k cost that’s fine technically but then we notice it doesn’t even perform as much? Next thing you know owner gets told he needs “gearing” and then cf stuff to lighten… hmmm

Hello, I would like to ask a question, since I don't understand much about Honda. How much power does this engine have originally? And what kind of preparation has been done, thank you very much. Thanks for the video. Greetings
@SRDmotorsports Жыл бұрын
Stock vti is usually 105-112whp that’s wheel horsepower so if need to know engine hp it’s usually 14-15% higher than what’s at the wheels It was ported, upgrade pistons and cams and exhaust
@goyocarreras Жыл бұрын

Wow,exactly what i was waiting for,congratz for breaking the 150 whp mark,faster than a b16b now i assume,so you see this cam upgrade better than your level 2 bisi?even on stage 3 cam its sounds pretty mild and gd,now i have my eyes on this recipe for my d16y6 vtec build,why the po8 d15 head btw?is it the best possible frank for the d16,that's why?

we don’t get the d16z6 here just the p08 d15 which is identical core… My cam is a non vtec cam so not comparable

Why would you tune the car with the huge power dip in the middle ???? Why wouldn’t you raise vtec and properly tune the car and make a smooth power band ? I’m very confused .
@SRDmotorsports Жыл бұрын
That is not a dip, everyone looks at that,.. The extended intake pipe gives a hump in the 4,500-4,700 range making the part after seem like a dip Vtec is at 4,900 and it was tested in diff areas… easy to say “smooth” when that’s what the engine does in diff timing and fuel… But all that say smooth also don’t check the massive dip after peak and all so it’s all very relative

@keyn9r Жыл бұрын
it's whp right? you know how much engine hp it made?
@SRDmotorsports Жыл бұрын
Yes whp and that’s usually 14-15% lower than engine hp, so let’s use the conservative number 14% that’s 172 engine hp
@keyn9r Жыл бұрын
@@SRDmotorsports ok i just never understood, why people only measure WHP. In germany no one cares for WHP, everything that matters are eninge HP. For exmaple we have a very famous german youtube channel, he makes nearly every week dyno videos with different cars. he got a brand new dyno, but the whp are very weird. nearly every FWD car looses 40-50hp to the wheels, but the engine hp seems accurate, so the dyno is calculating the engine HP right. the dyno i often use, my B16 loses 17-18hp without power steering and 24-26hp with power steering(tested many b-series, all the same). so i think comparing WHP is bad, because the dynos are measure this number different, but are calculating the engine HP correct.
@SRDmotorsports Жыл бұрын
@@keyn9r yes but whp is directly reflected on track so that’s why like for example this 151whp is should easily do 14.0 or even 13.9 Because a 147whp I know CAN and always does 14.2 easy…
