On Day 1 of Diesel Power Challenge 2015, its the Dyno competition held at ATS Diesel. This event is all about the numbers as each vehicle’s peak horsepower and torque numbers are added together for an overall total per pull. With Nitrous allowed, each contender is given 3 chances to score the highest and earn bragging rights as the most powerful truck!

i know that modification is key to horsepower, and that horsepower favors the Cummins and Duramax in more mildly modified trucks, but i've never seen a Powerstroke put much past 1000hp, much less outdoing Chevy and Dodge on the same dyno on the same day. i guess he had a higher budget than most everyone else.

Cobalt Lukather yeah i thought the same about the 1200, since it's a modern powerstroke, not like an old 24 valve cummins. But, since tuning isn't one and done, there's timing, of valves and ignition, and fuel mixture, i guess it's feasable to make that much. I mean, hey, i guess you get what you pay for...most of the time...sort of... :D EDIT: maybe the dude does regular engine rebuilds? I've seen/heard of modern engines, stock, both gas and diesel, being revved to hard and too much and shooting pistons, gaskets, pretty much anything bolted on to the block. And then i realized Oducks58 summed up what i said already. Except he actually sounded smart, lol. My bad.

probably the best powerstroke you can buy today would be that block with those mods on it. most people who take these trucks and make 4 digit numbers on street trucks should have some experience behind them, or at least had them built by someone who was experienced! no worries about sounding smart, i have a hard time acting smart myself

***** i did some research yesterday; a Mercedes Actros with the biggest engine (15,6L 6 cylinder) has about 400hp and 3000Nm. so these diesel challenge trucks are really powerful (but lifetime is very short compared with the actros (1.2M km^^)) never the less i'd love to see an actros pulling the sled. :D
