Gosh, this describes me so perfectly. I wish I had known this was part of my dyslexia back when I was in school.

i never had excessive yawning as a child when i was diagnosed as dyslexic but now in my 30s it is soooo hard to read my kids school work and books to them because almost every single sentence i yawn it has been scaring me because i dont understand why its happening when im not tired i also notice it when talking, typing and singing as soon as i stop doing the trigger activity reading, singing etc. it stops.

This is so true. Reading can often make me sleepy. It helps to have good cardio conditioning so you can get lots of oxygen to your brain.

+SANJAY SINGH Hi, Sanjay. Since dyslexia is neurological, there isn't a cure or way to get rid of it, but there are tremendously effective ways to treat it. If you are interested, we offer online dyslexia tutoring. You can find our rates and plans here: www.dyslexiaconnect.com/pricing-2/ I can also check if there are any resources in your area. Where do you live? Thanks, Peter

You are not alone. Anxiety and extreme fatigue are the most common characteristics of dyslexia. Join a support group and come up with strategies, exercise and nutrition is a must. Check out identifyingdyslexia.org

They wouldn't be yawning if they weren't paying attention and trying to read or spell.

+Reuven Heffernan Hi, Reuven. Thanks for your comment. You might find it helpful to get up and walk around from time to time, if your teacher allows that. This may help you remain alert while reading.

+Reuven Heffernan Hi, Reuven. Sometimes individuals with dyslexia find one of those areas more difficult than the other. This is fairly common, and we see it on a regular basis. Thanks for your comment.

Their brains are thirsty for oxygen to help process the info. Activity helps!
