I love this thing. Today I got the f3 code which led me to KZbin. I've had it through this past winter and I've ran it almost every day on either heat or fan every day and night. I like all the setting variations and timers. I bought one for myself and one for a family member. Well worth the price!

The one I had used well over twice the energy of a standard 1500w heater, and it had to be the only device operating on the circuit or it would trip the circuit breaker after about two minutes. The noise was like a regular fan, but like if you tied a plastic bag to the front of it and let it flap around in the breeze. Heat output was almost as good as a standard heater. Almost. Has since been replaced with a better performing $15 space heater. Now I know your thinking that's not as safe as the bladeless, BUT they seem to have invented some new kind of shield with really small holes it mounted to the front and back of the heater so you can't poke your fingers in there.

Hows the energy efficiency of this fan? Especially during the winter time when heater mode is used?
@JackMMcMullan
@JackMMcMullan 4 жыл бұрын
Because it uses a blade less design there is little friction-based energy loss. The official rating is this: “The Dyson HOT+COOL has a power consumption from 36 to 44 watts.” with 36 watts being its normal fan-mode consumption (meaning just moving air around and not heating or cooling) and 44 watts being the average for its heating/cooling mode. Putting its energy consumption at 83.7% lower than the average overhead fan, and 47.8% lower than the average plug in blade fan.

Tested one out at Best Buy store. It was nice, however for $400-$500 price range, the air and heat should fill up a 1000 sq foot room with NO problem. Not just a small room. The price doesn't match the performance to me. Sure you get a 3 and one bladeless, but they need to come down with the price. If they had a taller one like the air blower and filter, maybe $400.00 but not for the little one they offer.

Well no, thy really don't do they. Its like saying a radiator is the same as a convec heater. Just because they put heat our doesn't make them the same. I don’t find that it cools any better than a normal fan to be honest. However the heat setting is amazing in the winter. My kids’ rooms are above the garage so there rooms are either freezing in the winter or grossly hot in the summer (this is with the AC on and all blinds closed) The cool setting on this fan does nothing temperature wise. Doesn’t cool the room at all.

Easier to use, smaller, more portable, way more secure (don't have to have the window open), fits in more spaces, much quieter.

Dyson build products work which properly first 5 times you use them and then they never work how they were when new.

I bought the fan.Ive noticed that in defused mode the air spreads only to the sides,not where it is pointing at.(Not 180 degree angle)Is that a defect?

Tech Steve I’m saying this because the I can’t notice a difference with the fan on and off when that mode is on.The temperature doesn’t really change.Any tips to making this mode do what it’s made for?

Why would it be able to? It is a fan. NO fan and I repeat NO fan has Freon induced cooling capabilities. This is not an air conditioner. Please educate yourself on what a fan is and how it works.
