I like my dyson, its not my favorite machine but I do like what it dose on my hard floors. I do take my electric leaf blower and blow the cyclones out outside and I also vacuum out the canister with one of my bagged machines to get everything out. I dont think I would buy one new but I got mine free so for a free machine I am totally satisfied with it

My aunt bought the Animal 2 Total Clean version of this to use as a backup machine alongside their Hoover React Professional Pet at my family's ranch. I've used it a couple of times, and although I do prefer the Hoover React over the Dyson (for favoritism reasons), I do believe that those Ball Animal/Multi Floor/Origin 2 models were definite improvements compared to when the new generation Dyson Ball vacuums was launched (partly due to the updated cleaner head design with a more aggressive brush roll). I remember trash picking a DC40 years ago, and after I cleaned it up and got it working again, its cleaning performance was absolutely horrible (the Ball Animal 2 would clean circles around that), which felt weird because the head felt like it produced sufficient agitation, but that must've only been at the surface.
