2019 and I still have my dc007. Thought I was finally going to have to send it to the graveyard , but this video has given it a new lease if life! Many thanks!

Thank you so much! My Dyson has been having very poor suction for a long time. I cleaned the filters and all that but could never get it to work well again. I followed your tutorial and the inside was completely blocked from bottom to top! It's nice and clear now, thank you for saving my vacuum!!

I am still loving my DC07. It just got a new clutch and belt assembly and I repaired the main suction hose with some epoxy for plastic. It is working like new again, at least to my best recollection - thanks to Nelson Vacuums for the videos! I'll be cleaning out the cyclone chamber and we'll see... Don't forget that these old DC07s have about twice the suction power of anything they put out since 2011 due to EU regulations. It is well worth keeping our older Dysons going. And thanks again to Nelson Vacuums for these videos.

Smart Alex, your video was the only one online that nailed the reason for loss of suction in my Dyson DC07! From NorthbCarolina, USA thanks Mate!

I've cleaned out mine in a sink after about 6 years of use. I cant believe that all that crap could fit in that assembly. All the gunk got to the consistency of styrofoam. At least not it works like a new. Thanks for making it obvious that that place gets so much crap in it.

I have just replaced the brushbar and soleplate on my DC07 and upgraded to HEPA filters and additional seals needed over normal filter. I have been really pleased - it now lifts the carpet slightly when you pull back... yep... that'll do me. lol. Anyway, my next tweak was gonna be stripping down the top cyclones, so I really appreciate you uploading this mate. I didn't realise how easy it was. Thanks.

I can't believe how much crap was in that cyclone assembly. It's a shame that the DC07 gets clogged. I have a DC24 and there is loads of dust caked inside the inner cyclones chamber.

@genov84 At least now* PS Also, check the if you lose suction, check the hose connecting the unit to the brush assembly. With time and use, mine had a huge crack in it. Nothing a little ductape can't fix though :)

You have a clog in your hose. Since in normal use when you vacuum the carpet or floor, the air doesnt go through the hose. But when you switch it to the hose mode and loose the suction, you have a clogged hose.

Great video but I was waiting to see you hoover up your screws. I wonder if you did hoover up the two that you didn't put back. I guess we'll never know.

One of the problems with the dyson is the fine dust takes on an opposite charge from the plastic and then the plastic accumulates the fine dust. Once you take the top off and vacuum all the fine dust out take it to the bathtub and run hot water on all of the plastic and through it and shake it around and get all the dust out of it. Then wash the top and dry it with a towel and wash the clear part also with water and no cleaner. dry it off also. then reassemble and set the vacuum cleaner up and turn it on and let it run to dry itself out. Another way to do it quicker is to take the canister off and take the clear plastic off on by holding the canister by the handle gently tap on the plastic cones and the dust will come out the bottom and fall into the sink. the design was really off for the dc 07 for the top of the canister. It should be a spring pressure clip to hold it together and to get rid of the screws.

I got my pressure washer and pressure washed the dirt out and it came up like new. Quicker than vacuuming it

How do you separate the cyclones from the housing to get into the individual cones. There are three screws that can be removed from inside the housing. I heard there are three hidden tabs that can be forced out? Hope that makes sense?

Hi. Thanks so much for this tutorial. Very helpful. However, I'm still having problems with suction. There is full suction when the unit is standing upright but when I angle it back and down, the suction completely vanishes. I return it to the upright position and the suction completely returns. Any advice? I've cleaned the brush, bearings, checked the hoses for blockages and cleaned any gunk out of the cyclone unit. Thanks!

Surely you have a torx screwdriver with a handle thats shorter than that 18" monster in your video? It just looked awkward with that excessively long shaft.

look for a crack or loose fitting in one of the hoses that flexes during these movements.

On my greenish DC07, the latch that holds the bottom of the bin on does not stay work reliably. I now need to hold the bottom in place with my hand when I remove the bin. It does not appear that the lip that latches is very long, is this a common problem on these? How do I fix this? Thanks

The problem I'm having is the base plate will not level with the carpet so the suction is not good. I have to reach down and constantly level it so it will be level with the carpet. Will WD40 make it level or there any other remedies?

Thanks for the tutorial. My problem is that after running for a minute or 2 the vacuum sound develops into a low booming suction noise. The suction is great, I cleaned out all the cyclones and all the seals appear to be in good order. no blockages in hoses etc. This has me really scratching my head...? Any thoughts?

I know this video is a year old. Does anyone know how to get between the cyclones and the lower housing? there's 3 screws on the inside but I can't get it to separate. The previous owner had dogs or cats or something and it as coated all inside with a cake of dust that sells like satan just got out of gym class and he didn't shower yesterday either. So I need to break the entire thing apart and totally clean every surface at all. PS I did a total breakdown and this is AFTER having cleaned everything (including removing the little vanes and shroud, that I still have that smell. yes mine is a DC07 thanks!
