This video is still helping people, like me, and I even chuckled while fixing my vacuum, instead of grumbling. My vacuum wouldn’t lower all the way, and it was this same latch that was the problem. The screw & washer had come off, and fell out once I detached the ball. Was easy to get the vacuum working again, thanks to you. Made my day. Thanks so much!

Another cracking video Sam. You make it look so easy. It was your strip down and reassembly of the DC25 videos that helped me so much to change a damaged spine. My youngest daughter is using the machine to this very day. Thank you so much 👍

Perfect, also fixed the issue where the brush bar wouldn’t lower after moving the handle.

For anyone that has this happen I was able to resolve this by only removing one half of the ball and then using a small allen wrench (3/32 i think) instead of the t15 torx to tighten it down a quarter turn at a time. This means only needing to remove the 4 screws for the ball and no electronics.

That was very helpful! And saves a TON of time! Thanks for the tip, my friend!

I love your detailed repair videos. A typical DC25 error, not like the screeching, crying sound that is the fault of simple, single-minded users who are lazy and illiterate to clean and replace even the filters. I have already repaired a couple of them, and instead replaced the original with a bushing and a stronger screw that goes completely through plastic.

But Where do we buy the screws and that little piece of circle plastic that goes around the screw it
@beko1987 Жыл бұрын
Probably be some used on ebay. Same screw as the Recline pedals too, and was used in the dc24 and dc25.

I was having trouble getting the latch back on the peg that the screw goes into. One end of the spring attaches to a hook on the body of the vacuum. The other end of the spring hooks onto the latch. I ended up removing the spring from the hook on the main vacuum body. Then I installed the latch, replaced the screw and then put the spring back on the hook I removed it from. Hope this helps if anyone else is having this problem
