@@tastykimchiOFDOOM well theoretically even a FLAC file has some degree of compression. Maybe what I said was a little misleading. Something that's actually uncompressed would be vinyl, because it's not a string of data, but something physical that can't be represented 1:1 as data. What I mean by uncompressed in the context of digital audio, is that you're sending the raw audio data to the headphones, where the digital to analog conversion takes place. In theory this is the same as just using a cable from a dedicated DAC. Just that said DAC is instead isolated inside the headphones. If anything, doing it this way helps with interference.

The metal cap can be a capacitive sensor. Or more specifically, anything metal in contact with the sensing circuitry becomes part of the sensor. I don't know if they designed it that way but if they did, the metal cap should be touching metal contacts somewhere. Capacitive sensors also have a configurable range, so it can work through objects.

Personally, I find myself drawn to them. The customization really nails it home for me. I mean the matte pastel color choices are just chef's kiss. If I didn't already have a fairly recent pair of headphones, I'd consider these if they were ever on sale.

kudos for replacable earcups which are not just the foam but also the inside fabric. After owning three pairs of anc over ear headphones, I know that they will stink after 2 years of usage, but being able to change as much as possible on the inside might help.

What i think Dyson does great is pushing the ideas - making other designers see what MIGHT be. Yeah sure the actual products they made might not suffice, but the joystick physical button is a genuinely interesting take. The customization is really next level - also plays into repairability which I think is extremely important. The air mask is interesting and kind of dystopian? I mean it might actually be a cool futuristic take on headgear.

I appreciate the app for these that gives you a dB meter. People like to listen to music really loud on their headphones and you can quickly give yourself tinnitus doing this. There's little to zero resources for measuring just how loud your headphones are without having to spend hundreds of dollars. Hearing damage is irreversible, I really appreciate having a decibel meter that comes with your headphones.
@abdulateefsakariyau67203 ай бұрын
Dyson headphones are more about the futuristic design than practical audio quality-you're paying for the brand and aesthetic, not the sound.
@ErikVomMars3 ай бұрын
Which is a horrible choice for headphones
@shininngg3 ай бұрын
At the end of the day it is a headphone made for listening to music and not a fashion accessory, so the sound quality is what you should be paying for, especially at this price point. Also Dyson is not in any way an established brand in this field. If you want to pay for a good design, audio quality and for the brand look at Bang & Olufsen.

I think there is no force sensor, I think the mic for noise cancelling picks up the sound of your fingher tapping on metal cap, so it may improve with software updates.
