I pulled a dyson dc25 out of a dumpster behind my work place and it was in pretty rough shape. I honestly think it had been used in a cat hoarding situation as it had so much cat hair in it I could have made three cats with it. All the wheels on the motor head assembly were rusted to the point of being frozen and were half circles where the owner had clearly just kept on pushing it around until they had worn them away lol. The rolling brush had barely any bristles left and they were black (melted?!) Into solid lumps on the end. I did a full tear down, blew everything out with a compu-clean, replaced all filters, and eventually replaced the entire assembly head when the wheels proved unsalvageable. It's now my main vacuum :) worked fine once it wasn't dying from cat hair lol. Honestly the greatest investment I feel you can make for the life of your vacuum is an air compressor/ or compu-clean. Blowing out any vacuum at least once a year (with proper respiratory protection) will help any vacuum you buy last longer.

Gross, I would have never made a machine found in that state my main vacuum. Some machines are just too far gone, probably had rusted out wheels because they became wet from cat or dog urine.

Dyson's marketing along with selling them everywhere is the culprit. If people knew about how good Henry vacuums from Numatic, or Miele, or Riccar, or Sebo are they wouldn't spend $300 to $800 on Dyson's junk. It shows why companies spend so much on advertising.
@HouseOfVacuums
@HouseOfVacuums 3 жыл бұрын
It's very true. I often tell people that Dysons are built like a vacuum half it's price and the rest of that is advertising costs. I will say, their marketing has been very effective... even my Dyson-centric videos on this channel are by far my most viewed. Thanks for watching!
@ethelryan257

@strayiggytv

Honestly I like dysons but I still think the best place to get them is a dumpster or for $20 at your local goodwill lol they're decent vacuums at that price and so long as your will to fully clean them once a year they do a good job vacuuming.

@Cleaning_Hero a modern hepa bagged vacuum, needs far less cleaning and maintenance than a Dyson. Simply removing a full bag and replacing with a new one is so much better than dealing with a dusty bin chamber.

Maybe you could lease one of those dry & wet multi purpose vacuums which can be used for DIY-work or home renovations (e.g. for plaster dust) to your customers? They are pretty cheap so it should pay for itself in no time. Great video as always!

Dyson's look nice, but in reality, as you pointed out, they require more frequent maintenance than a good or great bagged vacuum. Plus to me they look like they use too much colorful, but chincy plastic. There are so many points that restrict airflow from the diameter of the hose and other points that can get clogged before the cyclone chamber. That being said their marketing is genius. The only Dyson products we buy or my wife likes are their hair care products.
@HouseOfVacuums
@HouseOfVacuums 2 жыл бұрын
Yup, bagless is a lot of work! I also agree on Dyson's hair care products... while they are crazy expensive, they work very well. My wife has had the hair dryer for 2 years and it is pretty fantastic.

The issue there, other than cost (~$35), is parts availability. The cone pack for a UP16 is currently out of stock pretty much everywhere, which is becoming more and more of an issue for Dyson. If it is not a typical wear part, they often aren't even importing the parts. Unfortunately, for a lot of these Dyson models cleaning is really the only option. Thanks for the comment!

Hi! What is your opinion on the Samsung Jet 75/90 cordless vacuum? Do you think they are reliable?
@HouseOfVacuums
@HouseOfVacuums 3 жыл бұрын
The performance on the Samsung units is fine, certainly comparable to other units on the market. The real issue is that Samsung does not have any parts distribution. So if you need a part other than a battery or a filter that you can buy from their consumer site, you are pretty much out of luck. Probably the best cordless stick for long-term parts support is the Miele HX-1. All the parts are widely available online and through their dealer network. Hope that helps!
@匿名的-1
@匿名的-1 3 жыл бұрын
@@HouseOfVacuums Thanks for your answer. Yeah, the parts distribution is terrible I can't even buy batteries from the official Samsung website here which is pretty disappointing not gonna lie. Anyways I wish you a very nice day, goodbye.
