This concept of fan with no propeller is great. Other companies manufacture it too. But based on experience, a HEPA filter and a charcoal filter is not enough to mask odors. Although a HEPA filter is good at filtering viruses, it must be replaced once it reaches its saturation point. Remember, most viruses are transmitted hand to mouth, through food, sex or intravenously. A simple cold virus can be avoided by covering your mouth and by washing your hands. And a hepa filter is expensive. A charcoal filter can at some degree filter odor, it can't filter 90% odors. If you want an equipment for filtering odors, you can use an ozonator. An efficient ozone generating machine can filter even sewage odors. It is what we use in hotels sewage treatment plants.

Great video. how good is this at cooling? I want to buy this for the purification but more importantly for hot summer days as I live in the loft and its get unbearably hot. Will this do the job?

It's actually quite good at getting the room to be cooler. My office was 36c last week and using the fan reduced it to 28c after an hour or so. It is quite loud on speed 10, but not too obnoxious. When in use the air feels better, unsure if its just placebo, but it does actually feel better.

It will reduce it, to a certain degree.... as it’s filtering the air you will see it stop some dust as any air that goes through it will be filtered through the hepa and the carbon filters.

You can purchase the air purifier from here bit.ly/AO_HR_Dyson it is £399 currently. It's a 40 watt machine, but when using it in normal conditions and not a full speed it hardly consumes anything. Filters last for 6-9 months of medium-high use from what I have been told. Loudness - on speeds 1-4 its not that loud at all, perfectly fine for sleep time even. Ramp it up to 8-10 speed, its rather loud for night time, but daytime its enough to hear but not obnoxious

It has a reverse setting for winter that purifys the air but blows it out backwards away from you and doesn't cool the air further.

Yeah, if you leave it in auto mode it purifies 24x7 which is what mine does. When I need cool air too I turn up the fan speed

Are you in the UK? You can return it and change it. If you’re outside of the UK you should still be able to return it if unused. Otherwise, if not, enjoy the fan - they are pretty much the same units with tweaks.

It is an acquired taste. It is very quite under speed 4 above that it becomes quite loud. It’s still about the same as the am06 though

Thanks. But "about the same as the am06 though": if you had to make an educated guess, would you say that the am06 or the new pure cool is quieter? (I'm very sensitive to sound, hence why even the slightest increase can disturb me). Mine (in black) should arrive tuesday. I've had an AM06 for two weeks until I saw this new pure cool.

All the Dyson fans are audibly the same in my opinion. I would take a look at the rates decibel levels dyson quote for more technical evaluation. Hope that helps at least a little

I've received my Pure Cool table model yesterday and repacked it after testing it for half an hour. I'd yet to return my AM06 but now I will keep it. I've ran them one after the other, and the AM06 is definitely much quieter- albeit quite a bit smaller too. But it emits about the same amount of air. Yet, I do realize that it's normal for the Pure Cool to be more loud as it needs to suck the air through two layers of filters as well... Kind regards

Totally agree it’s not an AC unit so won’t cool like ac. However, moving the air reduces temperature, and the experience to a user is that the ambient temperature in a room has reduced. Obviously, it won’t reduce it as much as air conditioning.

Henry Reviews Moving the air doesn’t reduce air temperature. The chill effect we, humans, feel when using a fan is due to evaporation of our body’s sweat, and not to air temperature. Btw, not trying to be difficult, but this is a very important distinction and could affect someone’s buying decision.

Don’t buy that piece of shit garbage Pure Cool. Yeah it purifies the air well, but it ‘COOL’s FUCK ALL. It’s extremely loud, inefficient and completely made of plastic so why it costs £400 I have no fucking clue. I live in the UK it isn’t exactly the fucking desert so Dyson’s amazing Pure COOL should ‘COOL’ my small bedroom just fine, but no, I can’t sleep and I’m drenched in sweat because Dyson’s disgusting, misleading marketing, manipulated me in to thinking I was buying something that was also a decent fan. DONT BUY IT.

Thank you, glad you liked it. The microphone I am currently using is the Rode Videomic Pro, I will revisit the audio settings to see if this can be improved on. Hopefully, you will revisit and let me know how the latest videos sound.

its the echo mostly, prob go the mic on camera. could throw some blankets around to dampen the echo, possibly try a lapal mic if want to try something budget or what I would recomend is NTG3 shotgun mic rigged above you. great vids btw, sound quality is always the hardest to get right and very under rated
