The Dyson Hot + Cool Pure Link, a lot of people have viewed my first review and now I have a couple updates and concerns.
This is still the best fan we have ever owned. It works well and has changed how we approach heating our home in the winter. But more on that in a little bit.
If you have any questions about the fan please leave me a comment below and I will do my best to answer them.
First, it is smart home device compatible and I can tell Alexa to turn on purifier and the fan will come on. I can also adjust the speed. However, that is about the extent of control I am able to have with voice commands. Often the smart device will respond that a feature is not available at this time when using voice command. We have had this fan for almost a year at this point and I don't foresee the features being added any time soon.
Second, it is available on the MyDyson app, Alexa app, and has a remote control. But, the two apps limit what you are able to do with the fan. Especially when it comes to controlling the heating settings. If I want to turn on the heat, I can only do so with the remote. There is a law that prevents both apps from turning on the heat or adjusting the desired temperature for the heat. It also warns you that if you turn it to cool from heat in the app you cannot turn the heat back on. Within the apps on the heat setting all you can do is adjust the speed of air flow, oscillate, turn on night mode, and turn it to cool mode. But, if I have the remote, I can control everything. I don't understand why, but I am sure there is a good reason.
Even with these limits, this fan has become a primary source of heating our home as the weather has turned cold. Energy costs are very high and we are trying to control usage to avoid excessive costs. We have found that in our bedroom if we keep the fan on the heat setting on 65 and a low air flow speed on auto, the room remains at 65 degrees and is cozy. We also have a electric fireplace in our front living room that keeps the main living area comfortable and a gas wall heater in our back living room that we keep on a lower setting and adjust if we need while we are in that space. In the main house if these devices aren't able to keep up, we have a nest thermostat and it is set to eco mode so if it falls below a certain temperature it will kick on the heat. I am excited to see how well this set up works and am hoping that we are able to leave it this way for the full duration of winter.
Third, the MyDyson app has the ability to track the filter life so you know when to buy a new filter. You can schedule the fan to turn on and filter. You control the days, time, length, speed, and even oscillation. You can schedule timers so if you forget to turn it off, it automatically does it on its own.
Since the last video I completed on this fan, we have decided to move its location in our room. We moved it to the foot of the bed and removed the other fans completely. It is able to provide exactly what we need and doesn't clutter our nightstands. For that, I am thankful. I still would purchase it again and feel that the benefits are worth the cost.

I have a cheap Amazon air filter for my living room. It does the job. Now my room has little filtration because I try to keep the window closed due to having visual exposure to my neighbors and I notice dust builds up. I wonder if this will help my room trap all that dust. The fan and the heater seem to be extras. I have a Dyson vacuum that I love. So I would love to treat my health by getting a Dyson purifier. Good review

I think you will love it! I noticed a lot less dust in our bedroom with the fan and you can set it to automatically adjust based on air quality in the room. We love it and are thinking about getting another. 😂 Thank you for watching and commenting!! 😊

do you know what’s the material of the purifier? I have the black one and its kind of plasticly and i want to see if the white one is better quality thanks

It is also plastic, I think the white helps it not look as cheap. Unfortunately, in my opinion, I think Dyson's gray or black plastic products including my airwrap look cheap and show a lot of dust even right after cleaning. I will say I have not had any problems with quality as far as any of my Dyson products are concerned though it is strictly looks. I hope that makes sense. Thank you for watching and commenting!! :)

@@g1lb55 I think it is up to your personal taste and decor. I purchased white because that was the only option at the time. HAHA. I also like that it kind of disappears into the wall color a little bit. Sorry it took me a minute to respond. I just saw this! :)
