Dyson V10: How to Change and Clean The Filter

I love this machine! kzbin.infoUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g Assembly was a snap, only the handle had to be put on and it slides right in. Then a container filled with water and solution. This is not a vacumme cleaner, although the makers say you don't need to vacumme first. It is mainly for solid floor surfaces, but has a rug setting too. I have no rugs, so only used it on my pine wood floors. The machine has a mopping type rolling thing on the bottom, that scrubs the floor with water mixed with cleaning solution. A small bottle of the solution comes with the machine. Dirty water goes into a second compartment. The machine work worked quite well. It isn't very loud, and my floor looks so much better than when I mop it. Best of all, it is so much easier and less messy to use than a mop and bucket! I had a couple of things that might be nice, but not necessary. One is if the cord would retract into the machine instead of having to be managed with one hand. The other is that the amount of floor covered by the amount of solution seemed to be less than stated. But then, I might have gone over the floor more times than intended. I hope I can find the cleaning solution easily, I don't know how available it will be!

I have a V10 and I would contend that the filter is too damned finicky and causes a lot of grief with this unit. I ordered a few extra filters in the hope that all will work eventually. Dyson needs to work on this filter set up.. I hate it.

Hi I have 2 filters for my V10 Animal Dyson. But if I don't change it often it gives me an intermitten on/off sound. How often do you need to replace the hepafilter completely?

The on off sound means the filter or vacuum is clogged. Make sure you clean the filters out and then give it a good wash. Also look for clogs in the machine. Watch my video on Dyson pulsing

Hmmm nothing's working for... Ive both cleaned the filter and allowed it to dry and ive removed clogged stuff from the side vent... The only thing i can think is that i did put on the filter when it was still wet (i didnt realise) and perhaps it got the inner parts wet

DO NOT USE DISHSOAP on the filter! I used Dawn dishsoao -- very bad it clogged the HEPA filter, ruined the filter. Even using high pressure air and water did not fix it.

Same here, I bought a new filter during only 1 year of use and again after few uses the same thing happened again.. I wash it with water and let it completely dry still not fixed😡

@@peterdaniels8644 It's probably not fully dry. Ours takes at least 24 h to dry during winter. You could try blowing it with a hairdryer, but only after you have left it to dry for a full 24 hours. We are actually busy sourcing a spare filter, so we can continue using the unit while the other filter dries.

@@unsharpen - Okay, just wondering. So far, they have replaced just about every part of this vacuum, and the blockage light is still flashing. Lots of people say this can happen just as a result of the filter being blocked, and nothing else. Thanks!
